The theories of multiverses and parallel universes come to play here. This is a realm where all possibilities exist together - at the same time.
Could Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter beat up Robin from the DC Comics universe? Why don't you find out?
How would Spiderman take to meeting a kawaii catgirl idol... on a pirate ship? That's up to you!
Have a hankering to play a talking shoe? Why not?
Whether you're here for long-term, serious role-playing or a few minutes of silly fun while you learn the ropes of role-playing on WTF Rpg, the Multiverse is here for you to explore (and generally have fun with). The "WTF Multiverse" game is an open-ended, open-armed role-playing game designed for those who enjoy a free-form experience. That is to say, it is a game designed to be jumped into - or out of - at any point with no obligation to keep continuity, spend long laborious hours planning or plotting, and no need to be serious (unless you want to).
Rules
Three rules only:
1) Follow the WTF RPG.com rules.
In particular, pay attention to the fact that this is a "General Audiences" RPG.
2) Be excellent to each other.
This is the foundation of a Utopian society, folks.
3) Have fun and don't take this too seriously.
I would also add a rule of "play fair" - but as this game is pretty much meant to be chaotic and ultimately nonsensical, if you get involved with another player who's not being a good game partner, either ignore them or try to assist them in learning a better way to play. This game will likely attract a lot of new users, some of whom may not have ever role-played in their life. Consider this as much as a 'training ground' as a game.
Background
The Multiverse is a place where all possibilities are equal and co-exist simultaneously - even if they supposedly should cancel each other out.
Locations are either "general" (in the sense of being "stock" or "standard") or specifically taken from various real and fictional places.
More locations will be added the more the Multiverse is used. Feel free to petition for your favorite settings in our OOC thread. ;)
Characters
Operate under the concept that your character has stepped out of their world and into the Multiverse - whether this is intentional or accidental.
There are no other rules about character generation. You can play established fictional characters, real world people, abstract concepts, objects, animals, original characters - even yourself!
If six people want to play as Batman, they're perfectly free to do so. (Though they may want to distinguish themselves by 'era' or 'version' for clarity, they are by no means required to do so to play.)
People who are likely to be interested in the Multiverse should recognize that there is the possibility they may meet another character from their own "universe". They may even meet 'themselves'! Because of the nature of the Multiverse, their relationship with that character may be different from how it is "in canon". That's the beauty of it, really. Exploring the other possibilities. Maybe Batman and Black Canary are the next OTP because the players hit it off. So no two "Batmans" are necessarily the same. Especially when you consider how they may interact with characters outside of their own canon.
