Synopsis
It's just been her and her brother toughing it out since their mom died 12 years ago. She survived the serum. Ali didn't.
Description
Jinan (zhi-naan) has pale, near white, Arabic skin, and large, wide, hooded brown eyes. She has a sharp nose (literally, she has a beak) and sharp temples, with a feathered dreadhawk (her dreads are black, with red and blonde sewn in, though the feathers of hawks and other birds are sewn in throughout). Beneath her thin, scowling lips is the bottom half of her beak, needle thin and sharp. Her breasts are slight, and her hips are wide, but she is underfed and not half as pretty as she should be. She has a second set of arms, coming from right below her shoulder bones.

Personality
She is slow to trust (she grew up on the streets after all), and so far, seems to actively dislike most she has met on the compound, though the reasons are not quite clear yet. She can be very calm and level headed, but when she's afraid, she is highly irrational, seeking an end to whatever conflict and soon. Mirrors or other references to her bird-ness seem to frenzy her. When she is stressed and worried, she turns into a four winged chicken.

When she is stressed and worried, she turns into a four winged chicken. Because her bones are not hollow, she cannot fly. Also, she has four arms. The emotional reason for her birdness is currently unclear, but it seems obvious that she has trouble accepting help from others. That's probably why she has four arms, so she can carry her own burdens.
Magic
Skill- She has four arms, talons, a hind toe on her feet and a beak. Under duress, she turns into a bird, albeit flightless and with four wings.
Limitation- Her power is largely useless, and she cannot control when she transforms into a bird, nor can she fly.
Physical Skills: Growing up on the streets has taught her a thing or two. She can run with the speed and stamina of a cross country second placer, and is perfectly adequate with a knife.
History
Jinan grew up on the streets of Drabbe, protecting her younger brother Ali. They were both selected for these experiments. Jinan made it. Ali didn't. She's 20, he was 14. Their mother died when she was 8, so they only really ever had each other. And now she has no one.
She has been jailed twice, and broke out both times (first after a month, second after two), so as to not be separated from her brother.
Information she's not likely to disclose: They were born and raised on the streets, and their mother often went without food in order to give them enough to grow strong. One morning, Jinan woke up to see her mother being eaten by a murder of crows. She has harbored a particular phobia of birds ever since. As such, birds, mirrors and her beak are triggering for her, and tend to make her frenzied or manic, though it doesn't trigger the transformation into a bird.
