Synopsis
A seemingly demure young noblewoman, Tam actually has an adventurous and curious personality.

Description

Standing at 5' 3" and of a petite build, Tam does not cut an imposing figure at all. Her skin is fair, her features dainty. Strikingly blue eyes peer out from behind the long, straight blonde bangs that frame her delicate face. Her hair tumbles down her back, curled into a cascade of glossy ringlets at the tips. She is most often seen garbed in the simplest of styles she can get away with for court functions, favouring dresses of blue and white.

Her brows are straight and regal, set over kind eyes. Her nose is upturned in a delicate curve and when she smiles her cheeks dimple ever so sweetly. She appears to be the epitome of the delicate flower that all young noblewomen should aspire to be.

Personality
Tam appears to be quite demure and reserved upon first meeting. However, anyone who takes the time to get to know her will quickly realize that this is little more than a mask she has learned to wear to satisfy the demands of her noble relatives. Tam is actually quite the tomboy, and she feels that she is quite useless in the grand scheme of things. In her mind, her time would be better spent helping in the kitchen, or learning swordplay with the pages as she had been allowed to do as a child. When she was a young child, she had been allowed to spend her time learning with the pages, horseback riding, hanging around the kitchens... she had free run of their country estate. However, as she grew into a young woman she was forbidden to partake in such unseemly activities and take up more ladylike pursuits.

She is always eager to learn more, and curious about anything she does not understand. Above all, she longs to be in a position to actually do something useful with herself - she scorns and resents the fact that she is little more than a pretty court decoration. As a noble of the land, she actually feels a strong sense of duty to do right by her kingdom and takes responsibility well.

History
Tam grew up with a privileged life. Her noble family is close enough to court to be considered important, but far enough removed from court intrigues to avoid nasty politics. Tam's parents indulged her as a child and humored her tomboyish activities until she came of age. She became a lot more quiet and reserved after she was forced to abandon her childish ways, and most of her childhood friends as well. At the age of fourteen she was sent away to a noble boarding school to learn of etiquette and propriety. She did well, always applying herself to her studies and working hard, if only for the sake of learning something new. However she wasn't content with this lot in life, and found it hard to make friends with the other spoiled young girls. She gained a reputation for being standoffish and vain, merely because she preferred to spend her time reading books than gossiping with the others.

She returned home four years later, glad to be back in the countryside with her parents, friends and favored family servants. She spent two years drifting at home and at court, refusing suitors and generally being a bit of an oddity. Her parents, both still in good health, have taken it upon themselves to find a suitor for her and were only too happy to accept the King's proposal and arrange a royal marriage for their wayward daughter.
