Crash grew up as an
orphan. His body was frail and week, and all in all, unhealthy. He was orphaned
at an early age, seeing his parents for the last time before being killed while
shielding him. The shock drew him into seclusion, and he stayed there. As luck
would have it, he grew with knowledge, easily outdoing the others, but that
made him a target for bullying.
His times as an orphan
were harsh, but he made one friend. His name was Lucas. As he opened up to her,
he finally felt free of his shackles, and he began to create. The whole
orphanage grew with wondrous contraptions, and much more. Lucas however kept
the creator hidden, Crash was too shy to come out and see the others.
Eventually the others looked to Lucas, and assumed she was the source. Crash
didn't trust the others, and didn't want to be noticed, he didn't want to be
bullied anymore, but the scheme grew well, and he was well happy with just one
friend in the world.
Those days were very
short. It was only a couple days after that Lucas was adopted. Crash didn't
want to let her go, but they made a solemn pact, to keep meeting regardless.
Out in the woods, there was a small shack. Everyday, crash hung out there to
meet his friend, though not everyday, he was in the best shape. With his best friend
gone, the bullies returned to torture him. But he was happy he still had his
friend. Not every day was perfect, but Crash went there regardless, with
bruises, or broken bones, he'd be there rain or shine.
The shack eventually
became a common ground. Crash put all of his tools there, and brought many
inventions there to show off. Even though he couldn't see Mary everyday,
everyday, the shack was filled with noise and toys. The two would meet and have
the blast of their lives.
As the months continued,
Crash endured his life, and met his friend. Somehow life seemed perfect, but it
was until one day, Lucas came to him with a problem. Crash felt something was
amiss in his friend. A toy he took with him, seemed to break and he needed it
fixed right away. Crash took it without a doubt. Details seemed even more amiss
when the toy was broken in a peculiar way. Broken, but none of the parts could
fit together.
Crash didn't care, but
he thought, he'd make it better than before. a new paint scheme and some gimmicks.
Lucas took the toy and left immediately. Crash never understood what happened
at that moment, but later it all became clear, as soon as Lucas came back and
the toy had been smashed in.
Somethings clicked in
his mind, the toy looked similar to his own, back in the orphanage. It angered
him, and confronted Lucas. Lucas admitted it, he was being bullied, and he
couldn't do anything about it. Crash thought of something clever, a little trap
this time, to anyone who dare break one of his toys he gave to his best friend.
That toy gave Crash
ideas. He started making things for himself. Toys that would stop his bullies.
At first, he saw his toys were a bit too, dangerous when set off. But he didn't
care, those kids gave him enough trouble as is. It was until one of the
caretakers noticed he was punished severely. He didn't know why, but somehow,
he was given the impression he was stealing. Days passed by, but he taught the
other kids a lesson. Though somehow, he felt lonely. More days went on, and no
one would speak to him. The grown ups whispered rumors, something about him
trying to be adopted, and being just like Lucas.
And even more odd, his
shack, seemed empty. It was then he realized, he hadn't seen Lucas for over a
month. Weeks would go by, but he would always see his friend. Or at least word
of him. Regardless, he kept his daily routine. Two months passed, his
loneliness was unbearable. The shack had lost it's luster, and letters were
scattered around the walls, mainly written "Sorry I missed you Lucas",
"Let me know if you came by" "Did that last toy work out for
you?"
He started feeling
hopeless, but one day,Lucas came back, but this time, something was different.
He grabbed Crash by the collar and demanded he make more of his gadgets. Crash
thought he'd agree, regardless, but being held up, it made him remember,
something of how his bullies held him. Crash was to happy to pay that thought
any attention. And he soon got to work.
Lucas walked around,
back and forth as he started murmuring to himself "..... this better
work..."
Crash brought it out, a
brand new toy, with all his special modifications, to keep the bullies away.
Lucas snatched it and started to head back, Crash grabbed his hand and tried to
stop him, he hadn't seen him in months, and just wasn't ready to let go after a
short visit. But that's when things got messy. He noticed a scar on his arm.
Something he'd seen before on anyone who messed with his toys. An electric
scar.
Crash started asking
questions, his mind added two and two together, but he didn't want to listen to
it. Lucas attacked him, and threw him onto the ground, and faced him, "You
think this is funny? This.... scar is because of you! You did this to me! I
spent months in the hospital becuase of you!"
Crash didn't understand,
"What are you talking about? I made that for the bullies you had."
Lucas started to laugh
as his hold on Crash's neck slowly tightened, "Is this what all this is? I
figured you'd find out sooner are later. I didn't think you'd do something like
this!"
"What are you
talking about Lucas?" He didn't know it. He just kept running the same
word in his mind why?
"Oh don't play
dumb! I heard about it from the orphanage, just because I got adopted and you
didn't, you want to see if you can take that away from me don;t you??" He
glared at Crash.
It wasn't hard to hold
crash down, his body wasn't built for this, he was used to it though. All the
other kids did it to him, why not him too, "What are you talking
about?"
"You brought these
toys back to the orphanage didn't you? And you got them talking!"
Crash still looked
bewildered, not understadning a thing that was going on, "Come on...
Lucas! I'm your friend!" He gasped for air, being choked for this long
wasn't nice
"Friend? Really
now?" Lucas laughed, "You're just gullable aren't you?"
Lucas got up and let him
go as he walked around the shack, "So that means you really are just a
loner still... and i don't have to worry"
Crash gasped for air and
coughed as he tried to pull himself up, "Worry... worry about what?"
"Are you really
that clueless?" Lucas laughed, "My god you are! I could;ve kept
going, but the secrets out... or is it?"
Lucas looked around the
room, finally noticing all the letters on the wall, "Wow... that's sweet.
But then again" He created a few sparks, setting some letters aflame,
"If you die... none of this would ever get out now would it?"
Crash got up, the flames
scorching across the walls, he didn't know what was going on. Lucas made his
escape, and out the door and shoved a branch in front to prevent anyone form
getting in... or out. Lucas took off. Crash got up, and tried to get out, his
fruitless endeavors seemed even more so as he banged across the walls. Trying
to get out one way or another. There wasn't much to be done as he started to
see black, and fell unconscious.
The
next few moments were the worst pains he ever felt in life. It was
blurry, he felt rushed, and unable to move an inch. He felt so dry and parched,
and his body, couldn't move. He couldn't tell how long he was stuck like that,
but when he awoke, he saw something different. He was in the hospital, a cast around
his head, and a name echoing through his head, "Lucas"
He walked on through,
the doctors opened up his casts and showed what was underneath. he couldn't
believe what the mirror showed him. It was Lucas. He was Lucas. He touch
himself over and over, the mirror didn't lie to him. But the following moments
became clearer, the entire story of Lucas.
What he was told broke
him into tears, and shocked him unbelievably. He was found out in the forest
while a fire strung out, he was taken in as a burnt child, unrecognizable, it
was only his family's fortune, or rather Lucas's, that gave him his appearance
back. After recovery he went to Lucas's home, bewildered as he was given his
best friends life. Lucas lived in a house of luxury. He had a sister, one
aiming to be a lawyer in the future, and two parents, both entrepreneurs.
he stayed quiet, still
in shock, just like the last time. And as the people around him spoke, he
slowly figured out what happened to Lucas. these people adopted him because of
the inventions they thought he made. Being businessmen, they say an oppurtunity
take place. Every week Lucas brought something new, and showed them that he
made. And it kept going on and on.
Eventually one of the
adults tried to ask him, how he made it. He didn't know how to explain it, and
decided to work it out himself. That was the supposed broken toy. These parents
of his forced him to reveal how he made them, wanting to make more to make a
business out off. Lucas ran to Crash that day for help, and used him, like he
did before. Until one day, the toy shocked Lucas, and paralyzed him. From then
on, he was forbidden to make anything, until one parent lost everything, and
forced him to make a toy, an ultimate toy, to make all that money back. And also
prove a rumor wrong. He was stealing the inventions from some other kid in the
orphanage. Lucas decided to use Crash one last time
It all became clear. He
was used from the very beginning. Crash couldn't believe it. his world became
broken, and as he grew in Lucas's shoes, he realized these parent's, were some
of the cruelest manipulative people he knew. But he learned and grew.
Business sky rocketed and he became something the world had never seen.
his parent's made a
sudden disappearance, and his sister, being none the wiser, disappeared as
well. Lucas became a business tycoon the world had never known. But that wasn't
enough. Crash had goals, goals in which where the sinister part of him cracked
and was born. He would burn this world, just like his 'friend' tried him.
Crash started up his lab
and remade himself, a duplicate to live a life, untraceable, and undetectable.
An unknown who had been long forgotten, himself. He revamped his look and
wandered the world. his connections made him virtually unstoppable, his funding
allowed him to do anything. But out of a ll that he gained, he realized,
something wasn't right. Even as his plans were ready to be set into motions,
something didn't sit right with him. Something was somehow off.
Crash took his time, the
world can wait. but one thing he wanted, was what was this thing that kept
nagging at him. He decided to let find out, surely the answer is out there
somewhere
