Synopsis
A World War 2 paratrooper with a promising football career gone down the drain.

Description
Caleb is of an enviable height of 6'3". He sports broad shoulders and refined muscles from his time in high school as a football players. His hair's brown and cut short, his eyes are blue, and though his suffers from a rather prominent under-bite; most would think of him as handsome.
He also has two tattoos - one of a torn American flag wafting behind a screaming eagle (his military outfit's insignia) covering his entire chest, and one of a paratrooper, along his right forearm.

Personality
Caleb is your typical good guy. He's light-hearted, patient, polite, smart. Almost always, he'll end up doing the right thing, even if it goes against him.  He thinks and reacts and quickly as he can afford. It's not by chance that he was made sergeant before even going to war.
It's extremely hard to get on his nerves (and considering his size, not many people would want to, anyway) - but, despite his overall kind disposition, if you do piss him off, you would probably leave the fight with at least one broken bone.
It's equally hard to bring his mood down. Even if he is down, he would do his best to appear his normal jolly self instead of taking it out on other people.

History
Caleb Jackson Leszek (pronounced LE-SHEK) was born to a family of Polish origins, the oldest of three children. He was born in 1925 in the town of Sandusky, Ohio. He'd spent most of his childhood hunting with his father and uncles or playing with other neighborhood kids, and very quickly discovered his talent for football.

During high-school Caleb was a straight A student (recognized by NHS) and functioned as a running back for Sandusky High's football team, the Blue Streaks. He was sure to get into a good college as soon as he graduated. He would be the first of the Leszek family to attend college.

All this was good and well, until the war broke. Wanting to serve his country (but also support his family), Caleb dropped out of high school and, at 17 (which forced him to lie about his age), volunteered for US Military paratroopers.

He was stationed in Able Company, 1st Battalion, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne (in which he earned his nickname, 'Big Pollack'), and reached the rank of Sergeant while his unit was training in England, where he also earned his two tattoos (the first, the eagle - in London, and the second, the paratrooper - when he joined a fellow paratrooper to a short trip to Scotland).

Despite the troubles the 101st suffered on D-Day (paratroopers scattered all over the beach, far away from their drop zones - which also made most of them disoriented, thus making it harder for them to reach their assembly areas), Caleb eventually found his way back to his outfit.
Later that year, during Battle of the Bulge, Caleb took a bullet to the knee during a patrol. He was carried back to Able Co. and was evacuated to the makeshift hospital set up in Bastogne. On the bright side, he got sent back to England before all roads in and out of Bastogne were blocked; on the other, not only was his military service coming to an abrupt end; he could kiss his football career goodbye. He would be bound to a cane for the rest of his life.
