Synopsis
Adair has left her parent's house in the suburbs of Boston and moved to Portland, Oregon in order to start her first job.

Description
Adair is tall, nearly five feet, nine inches, and very slender. She has very narrow hips, almost no bust and if it weren't for her long hair and extremely delicate features, she would be taken for a young boy. She has bright blue eyes and long red hair, which she usually wears down. Her eyes are oval shaped, but wide-set, giving her an almost feline look. She has full lips and a straight nose, with very fair skin.

She wears very little make-up, but loves to occasionally vamp it up with some false eyelashes and bright pink lipstick. Adair's wardrobe is very simple. She prefers long linen dresses and skirts with faded worn t-shirts. When she must dress up she wears clothes cut in very retro silhouettes in dark greens and blues. She loves a-line skirts and sleeveless button-down blouses for work. The only jewelry she wears is an emerald ring given to her by her late grandmother.

Adair is bisexual and extremely sexual; she sees no shame in sex and her body. She doesn’t really believe that love and sex are connected, but feels that one can exist without the other.

Personality
Personality Adair is the exception to the rule of "fiery redheads." She is very tolerant and laid back, preferring to talk about problems than let them boil up into conflict. She is much quicker to laugh than cry and loves good, smart humor. Adair is rarely the life of the party, but she enjoys being close to those who are. She loves being around people who are positive and fun. She tends to be a bit overly-emotional when she is lonely , so she constantly surrounds herself with people. Adair loves to be active. She'd rather hike or swim than sit around and read or watch television.

Part of the reason she moved to Portland was the fact that it has so much potential for an active person. Adair love challenges, constantly seeking out new experiences and meeting new people. She feels like so long as she keeps busy and surrounds herself with smart, funny people, that she won't feel inadequate. Adair struggles greatly with her image. She assumes an attitude of nonchalance, but she is slightly insecure and high-strung.

Equipment / Abilities
Adair is bright and intelligent. She is very talented in publishing and she is quite dedicated. Her resume is very impressive.

History
Adair’s parents are both professors. Her father is a researcher in geo-engineering at MIT and her mother teaches Contract Law at Harvard Law School. Her parents had Adair, their only child when they were in their mid-thirties and have also been overprotective of her.

From a very early age, Adair was under a lot of pressure from her parents to excel academically and in her extracurricular. Adair attended a very exclusive private school until she was 15, when she demanded to attend public school. She also gave up the violin and took up the guitar at that age. Adair didn’t fit in at public school, but she refused to return to her private school. She went through high school in the public school system and attended Roxbury Community College. She transferred in her junior year to Harvard and finished her bachelor’s in English. Adair excelled at Harvard and was editor-in-chief of the Harvard literary magazine for two years. She proved that she was intelligent and adaptable by interning at The Atlantic Monthly in the summer.

Adair realized that she wanted to start a literary magazine somewhere on the west coast. She wanted to funnel the creative energy of the Pacific Northwest into a beautiful, well-produced magazine. She left her job offers in Boston and, with a few investors lined up, moved to Portland to work towards her dream.
