Synopsis
A powerful fighter. He doesn't like the way things are run but feels that some of the old ways aren't that bad.

Description
Being born to the west in Kerria, Dervish has always been taller and bulkier than most of the people he knows. He stands about six feet seven inches tall with broad shoulders and a muscled physique. His has a thick unruly mop of dark black hair and skin that is tanned but not as dark as most of his people. He has deep blue eyes that always seem to have a lazy look about them. Dervish is around his early thirties. He tends to dress very conservatively, only wearing a plain white shirt and a pair of brown trousers.

Personality
Usually carefree, Dervish will try to avoid deadly combat and for that matter most confrontation. He tries his hardest to avoid most work and only does the minimum amount of work possible to get by. In his free time - which he tries to make as much of as possible - he likes to drink at the tavern and spend time sleeping in the little garden he found near it.

When it comes to new people Dervish is always happy to get to know any one who's willing to talk. He loves a good time and will try anything once - as long as it doesn't require to much effort.

The only time Dervish ever seems to get serious is when he fights. In battle it is as if he is a different person. The lazy look in his eyes is replaced by a hard look that can intimidate even some of the most powerful fighters and like his name he is like a tornado of blades that cuts down his enemies.

While the others of the Flame seem to be against everything that the ruling power stands for Dervish feels that the religion of Loegir could have some truth to it. He just doesn't believe that a higher being should give more power to anyone more than another.

Equipment / Abilities
Dervish is an expert in close quarters combat. He fights with either a bare hands he fights with a scimitar in his right hand and a thin dagger in his left. Despite his size he is also quite nimble on his feet. When fighting with bare hands he tends to fight the way a modern day boxer would, bouncing on the balls of his feet and delivering quick but powerful punches. When he has his weapons drawn he holds the scimitar forward and the dagger backhand for defense.

History
He was born in the west in the land of Kerria but at a young age he was sold into slavery. When he was fifteen he finally came to rest as a permanent servant to a combat teacher, Ymir, in the inner circle of the city of Seboet. The man was a harsh master and worked the boy to the bone day after day. However, whenever Ymir had students he would watch the lessons he gave and practice in secret. This continued for three years until Ymir discovered him one day, practicing with sticks in the servant quarters. The old teacher saw something in the way the boy held himself, swinging the sticks with unrefined skill but undeniable talent. It was then that Ymir decided that this boy would be his newest student. So in secret the old man began to teach him, refining his skill until the boy, now twenty three years old was a more masterful fighter than any real student he had ever had. Once his training was complete the old master released his student from the bondage of his slavery under the promise that he would only use his skills to help people. The younger man agreed and before he left Ymir gave him something he had never had before; a name. He blessed him with the name Dervish, after the way his blades seemed to spin as he fought creating a whirlwind of blades.

Once he was released he decided to stay in Seboet. In time he met with and joined the members of the heretic group know as the Flame. Ymir had raised him on the religion of the sun god and he couldn't help but think that if he helped these people in their goals he may be able help sway them to what he believed was a teaching of Loegir that could honor the god without causing so much suffering.
