Synopsis
Sworn to protect The Seer, this masked Sol Guard seeks to protect the city's oracle as best they can.

Description
Of medium height and slightly thin build, this Sol Guard is rarely seen without their armor, helmet, and mask, like all of their order. They speak with a muffled voice through layers of steel, and seem slightly uncomfortable in their golden armor. Their mask, like all Sol Guard masks, appears vaguely threatening. Dark eyes peer out from the darkness behind this mask, just as unmoving as their golden expression.

Personality
Stalwart, rigid, unhesitating. Gentle. An odd set of words one might use to describe a person, but Dair is nothing if not ambiguous. They have grown to care for their charge, and despite their mask's vaguely threatening appearance, they can be a silent, comforting figure. Their dreams of serving a greater cause have led them to caring for The Seer, but they are not particularly zealous in regards to Leogir himself.

Equipment / Abilities
Dair wears heavy golden armor, identifying themselves as a member of the Sol Guard. They have adequate fighting abilities, but are trained specifically to be a bodyguard. As such, Dair is better at taking a hit--or keeping someone from taking a hit--than handing one out.

History
Dair was born to a family of middling rank and reputation, whose many sons and daughters found themselves entitled to lives as bureaucrats, dead soldiers, mercenaries, or in one case a priestess who the family hasn't seen since. Dair had grander dreams, and these dreams were happily granted when they were hand-picked at a young age to begin training for and possibly someday join the Sol Guard. Hard work and the sweat off their back gained them an entrance into the order, and a year later they were admitted into the Grand Temple and tasked with duties there. Another year, and they had sworn an oath to protect the city's oracle with their life. Four years have passed since they began personally protecting the oracle, and in the years since they have developed an odd sort of relationship with the boy-turned-young-man who has been slowly losing himself these past years. These developments disturb Dair greatly, and they have tried their best to encourage Azil to relinquish their habits and embrace healthier ones.

Extra
  • It's not easy to tell what gender Dair is--even The Seer isn't sure--because of their mask, helmet, and armor.
  • Dair's mask, like most Sol Guards', is of a vaguely threatening, neutral expression.
