Synopsis
She's quite friendly to those she encounters, though her idea of befriending often involves raw fish...


Description
Age: 20

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bi, slight preference towards males

Appearance: Calf length black hair, soft pink eyes, light skin, her teeth often look a little too sharp to be human upon closer inspection, roughly 5'1'' when on land, her outfit when on land is a two toned ankle length layered skirt the same colors as her tail (A Soft light blue and purple) in mermaid for and a pastel purple short top with a pink shell on it. always barefoot, no matter what. (Or, if my description was not exactly decent) :

Personality
Bubbly and sweet, she has some trouble understanding certain social cues, and often doesn't understand certain phrases as Coral's rather new to the surface world. still, she's determined to try and make friends with the peculiar 'landies', and it's rather hard to wipe the smile off of her face (Seriously...she's almost always smiling, it's kind of creepy at times but she's trying to look friendly to the landies) as she tries to be optimistic about even the direst of situations....which can make her seem a tad unnerving at times. she can even come off as a little airheaded at times.


Equipment / Abilities
Coral can breathe underwater, once every few months she can with some difficulty literally cough up a pearl or two (A 'Mermaid Pearl'...believed to be magic...actually just a part of some fish's bone or thing her stomach wasn't able to digest so it coated it in hard layers and then nacre and...well, she coughed it up to expel it...mermaids are weird.), and to an extent, can control fish (Nothing too big though, she'd have to be royalty to be able to command ALL the sea life). On land, she's pretty much like a normal human aside from needing more water then usual, and if ever forced into combat, will use an old, dented aluminium baseball bat she found while rummaging through garbage.

The necklace she wears is a family heirloom, and is what allows her to gain legs and go on land...though to keep it's power, Coral has to go swimming in the sea once a month, or it'll lose it's power, she'll turn back, and most likely die.


History
Coral prefers to keep her past to herself, though from what is known, her family migrated around the ocean a lot due to humans eventually driving them away from potential areas to settle, often unintentionally. Upon turning 18 she was given her necklace and allowed to experience the land and all of it's 'wonders', a tradition that was supposed to show her how bad the land people were and make her glad she lives in the ocean...which is why her family were shocked when she never returned.

It had had the opposite effect, and Coral essentially fell in love with everything to do with the surface, essentially embracing as much of a human lifestyle as she could...despite needing to take a dip in the ocean once a month.


She currently works part time at a seaside cafe, obviously on the night shift as it's open 24/5...don't ask how she even got legitimate work...you don't wanna know the answer.


Extra
-Her last name and first name were ones she picked herself...her actual name and surname sound...rather lovecraftian, actually.

-She loves raw fish...hates Sushi...mostly the rice, doesn't mind the seaweed though and LOVES Sashimi.

-She's also very fond of collecting garbage. particularly metal things.
