Xavier was the eldest son of a fairly well to do kingdom in the northern regions of their home continent. As such, he was treated well and always pampered. He likely would have attained or be well on his way to the plump structure that was a mark of wealth and royalty had he not been always wrapped up in attempting to match his friend in battle. Instead at twenty four, he remains lean and well muscled, though this tends to accent the sharp nose and thin lips of his lineage. He is slightly small of frame being well into the five foot range but not yet attaining six feet, a fact which frustrates him but which he tries to use to his advantage when sparring taller opponents. his fair hair and skin mean that he burns easily in the summer months, despite the northern climate.

Personality
Xavier has two very distinct personalities, his professional face and his personal face. When he is acting as Prince Xavier of the Nevyll Kingdom, he is buttoned down, thoughtful and strong in his opinions. Having been slated to take over his father's kingdom one day, and possibly even take on a secondary kingdom, he grew up with a great weight on his shoulders and it has made him a very serious person when dealing with the lives of others. Although he technically has no power as of yet, he is often included in war room discussions and other situations where the well being of the kingdom may be in question.

When out of the public eye, and more so out of the eye of his father, Xavier is a dreamer. He is fast and hard with his opinions, sticking with a decision even if he knows it to be foolish simply for a refusal to admit he is wrong. This has caused more than one serious fight with his long time friend, Luthien, but they always manage to patch things up. Despite his best intentions, Xavier is slightly on the spoiled side and wants things his way at all times. This has resulted in a questionable understanding of the laws of the land, just enough so he can bend them to his will. Yet for all that, Xavier really is a caring young man who has a love of family, friends, and country in more or less that order.

Equipment / Abilities
Xavier was trained in the fundamentals of sword fighting as most nobles are, though his skill level is some what higher because of the help of his sparring partner and good friend. He carries an adequate, if some what ornamental sword on his person at all times. His signet ring, bearing the family crest, holds a small compartment in which (against his will) he stores a small portion of poison meant to cause the imbiber to sleep. When on the sparring field, or going falconing or other large game hunting, he wears a light suit of finely made chain mail.

History
Xavier was the first born son of the King and Queen of Nevyll, and in the moment of his birth most of his life was planned out for him. From early childhood onward, he was sent to demanding tutors for hours on end, learning the history of his people along with the knowledge of maths, sciences, politics, and tactics that he would need to one day run a kingdom. His only escape from this tedious monotony was when his mother's friend came and brought along the young boy Luthien. At these times Xavier (with his mother's permission) would sneak away to play with the boy endlessly and dream up great adventures which included endless sparring matches. He always hated to see his only true friend go and would beg his mother to let the other boy stay with them always.

As they grew older, Xavier's training became ever more intensive. Being the only child and heir to the throne meant having an intense understanding of court etiquette, which included such silly inanities as learning to dance well and learning to train falcons for hunting. He was assured these things were important, how ever, particularly since the kingdom neighboring them to the south west had only one royal child and she was a girl some five years younger than Xavier him self. Of course, at his youthful age, Xavier didn't care a snot about girls, Princess or not, and worked even harder to dodge out of training classes to watch Luthien and the other young knights learn the interesting things. He even furthered his own sword fighting techniques with the help of his friend, beyond the flourishing basics he had been taught that were meant to show off in tournaments more than protect one's life. Even at this age, Xavier faintly envied Luthien for his skill with all things sharp and metallic, though Xavier him self excelled with his bow at least when it came to the purpose of shooting down small prey at great distances.

As Xavier grew older, his time with Lucien became harder to come by and all the more precious. At this time, Xavier's family was graced with a new addition in the form of a beautiful baby girl who's ties to the King were questionable at best. (The King, like Xavier and his mother was fair of hair with pale eyes, while  Princess Lyra was born with a full head of rich chocolate brown hair and eyes so dark they almost appeared to be black).  Xavier loves the little girl all the same, and between those family ties, being included more routinely in his father's work, and attending mandatory functions of nobility, his escapes to visit with Luthien became harder to come by.  Perhaps that was for the best, how ever, as both boys were becoming more opinionated and would get into some serious disagreements that left them further separated for weeks at  time.

Then came the unthinkable, a harsh wave of illness wending its way through the kingdom one dark winter. The loss of people was great, and even worse was the loss of Luthien's mother, though Xavier and his own mother did every thing within their power to save the woman. This was the beginning of darker times for the kingdom of Nevyll and for the young prince as well. While Xavier tried to return the soul of life to his shattered best friend, relations with the Kingdom of Alotar to the south were growing tenuous. Indeed even as Xavier regained his friendship, the talk of war began and soon after the assassination attempts began.

Xavier was assigned a person guard, as were all members of his close family and many members of the nobility. Fortunately, his guard was his best friend. Unfortunately, the talk of war turned into the start of a war and the proposed plan to have Xavier marry the Princess from Triem became a frighteningly serious prospect. After all, Triem was not far from Alotar and might be a future victim of the ambitious kingdom unless they combined forces with Nevyll and what better way to combine forces that a political marriage between the two eldest children.
