Synopsis
"In a society that has destroyed all adventure, the only adventure left is to destroy that society."

Description
Saedran's reflection scowled back at him through the looking glass, his lips turned down in a permanent frown. Green eyes flashed dangerously, hard and cold as he struggled to shave the stubble of beard under his chin. The entire left side of his burnt face throbbed, and looking at the scars that marred his almost-handsome features left him with bitter memories. He tossed the razor aside and whirled about as he stalked away from the image of his broken body. All along his bare chest and back were the marks of a life of suffering, and his cybernetic arm flexed. He could almost feel what it was like when his arm didn't itch all the time where the nerves connected; but this was his life now. The past was dead and gone - like his arm. Only the future remained now.

A vague recollection

Blood. It was the price coming into this world, and it was the price leaving it. Saedran shuddered as he stumbled along the corridor, his fingers clutching at the large hole in his chest. He knew he wouldn't last much longer, but somehow he had to - he just had to make it. Rounding a corner, he paused at the soft hum of a high powered rifle being powered up, and a single red dot rested on his forehead.

"D-don't move, sir," the wavering but determined voice of his lieutenant gave him pause. He wanted to call out to her, to tell her it had all been a lie. His tongue felt heavy though, like his mouth had been stuffed full of cotton. Finally he managed the last of his strength, quivering as his legs struggled to hold him up, "P-please, just wait a moment-" the last of what he had to say was cut off with a bright flash of light, and pain tore through him. He wanted to scream, the entire side of his face burning; though all in one instant, his body finally lost its strength, and the floor rushed up to greet him. The last thought that ran through his mind as the world began to fade, was how cold he had come to feel...
