Synopsis
You taught me to think and be smart, but you never told me to survive in a world without you. Mother, I'm lost. Why have you gone?

Description

NAME  Merrimack Rylen (Ree-lynn) Eberhardt (Ever-heart)
NICKNAME  Merrimack or M-Ry (pronounced emery, like the nail file)
AGE  Twenty-six
GENDER  Male
SEXUALITY  Straight
HEIGHT  5-foot, 7-inches

When it comes to looks....
Merrimack isn't what you would call the tallest of guys.  If anything, he's pretty short, especially beside his baby brother.  Height aside, M-Ry has dark hair and dark eyes.  His military inspired hair has flecks of grey in it, which match his steel colored irises.  Despite his small height, M-Ry has an impeccable build, in such that he's built swift and nimble.  Able to dodge and contort his body to his ever need, this genius can determine the best way to avoid taking damage or even the best way to use his body to its full potential.

As far as his attire goes, Merrimack often wears a simple oxford shirt with black slacks.  Sporting trouser braces, M-Ry can come across looking a tad old-fashioned.  He opts for military boots and has a few holsters around his thighs and hips.  Around his neck is a simple chain bracelet with a pendant at the end that looks like a pair of wings.  If you flip the wings over, you'll read the words, "Fight or flight."

As of right now, M-Ry has no tattoos or scars on his body.  He would like to keep it that way.

Personality
Shall we discuss my personality....
M-Ry is what you would call brilliant.  His wit and knowledge is peerless, losing only to the great books of history and wisdom.  Able to second guess an opponent's moves, Merrimack is almost 75-percent right in his calculations, which often allows him to win.  The few times he makes mistakes, he often has back-up plans in place.  To M-Ry, being unprepared means suffering and loss.

Some might call it odd whereas others will say it's cute, but Merrimack is a mama's boy.  Even when he moved out to be on his own, he would visit his mother for lunch every day.  On weekends, he would return and aid her with the housework and chores.  It's because of this that M-Ry has yet to settle down and find love.  Most woman find it odd that he would rather hang with his mother than go out on a date.  What they don't know is that Mrs. Eberhardt is sick with cancer and her days are numbered.  He refuses to share this knowledge with anyone as he doesn't feel the world needs to know.

Merrimack is also a very detail-oriented guy.  He absolutely cannot stand messes or clutter.  He also hates filth and grime.  Turning his nose up at such disgusting messes, he will command those who made the mess to pick it up.  Should one say no, they will face his fury.  It's best to just do as he says, for he's very anal about such things.

To touch on his general demeanor, M-Ry is pretty high-strung and comes across moody.  He often has a sore look on his face and will probably talk down to you.  He has a monotone voice, too, which certainly doesn't help his case.  People call him serious and stiff, but M-Ry is actually a tad better than that.  He does enjoy playing around and he certainly loves to laugh.  If you give him a chance, you'll discover his softer, sensual side.  It's clearly the side his mother's illness created and it's the one that's the hardest to see.  But it's worth it.  It's very worth it.  M-Ry is as sweet as candy and rare as gold when you become someone of importance to him.

Equipment / Abilities
Precious Item  •  Upon losing his mother, a ring with the words "The strength of brothers is an unbreakable bond" was formed to fit his left pinky finger.  Although it pains him to see his mother as nothing but a ring, he embraces the duty cast unto him and hopes that his mother's love will guide him on his journey.
Greatest Fear  •  His inability to save those that he loves.  Nothing scares M-Ry more than being useless.
With Fear Comes Strength & Courage (Power)  •  M-Ry's greatest fear has become his lack of power.  Unlike his comrades, M-Ry doesn't have a power.  He has nothing but his brain and skill to aid him.  Perhaps this is his strength, though.  Perhaps his human-nature is just what he needs to prove to the world that he has always been his own savior and hero.
Awakening Transformation  •  Although he gains no powers, M-Ry does shift into a knight form.  When he crosses his arms over his chest and throws his head to the sky, a whirl of wind blasts down at him.  With his great gust, all his clothes are blasted off.  Body glowing white for a moment, his body soon becomes donned in a red version of his white oxford shirt.  His black pants and accessories return.  The only new thing is is red shirt and the appearance of a large red shield and a red sword.  He also gets a pair of black, leather gloves.

History
Regarding the past....
Sometimes you can't help who you've become.  When you're surrounded by a surly father and a kind-soul mother, you're bound to adapt one of their personalities.  To M-Ry's dislike, he picked up his father's colder nature.  Despite his best attempts, he just couldn't become the kind, loving person that his mother was.  And with each attempt to become sweeter, Merrimack became darker and less fun.  He was truly becoming the man he hated.

That was until she fell ill.  With father having to take up a new job that required a ton of traveling, Merrimack and his brother, Ael, were forced to care for their mother.  M-Ry was just 22 and trying to finish up his schooling (he was attempting to become a business man, a lawyer, with a history minor).  Unable to complete his degree as his mother fell far too ill, Merrimack took up an evening bartender job to make extra money to support his mom's well-being.  M-Ry, being the genius, decided that Ael needed the schooling.  So alongside keeping tabs on his mother and working an evening job, he was also helping put Ael through school.  Stressed and tired, M-Ry felt his life slipping from his hands.  He grew sore and soon started to lash out his baby brother.

The night before everything changed, a great storm rolled in.  After spending an hour arguing with his brother and father, Merrimack stomped off to his room.  A large crack of lightning sent Ael flying into his bed and cuddling up alongside the one person Ael believed to be stronger than lightning, his brother.  Although M-Ry had no interest in keeping Ael with him, the brothers soon fell asleep.

Morning came and that's when the nightmare started.  Blood was everywhere and his parents were nowhere to be seem.  Written in blood on the wall were the words, "Together, you'll survive."  Before those words were two rings -- a bronze ring with a pink hue (meant for M-Ry) and a golden ring with a blue hue (meant for Ael).
