King of the Demons. Why did no one tell me this

If I had to describe myself I would say I'm well mannered, easy-going and personable. I've heard many say I'm a likeable character but I like to think that I simply earned the respect that they give me. I'm level headed, very slow to anger for some reason but I've always felt like I have a higher calling than my current station. All of that is on the outside. Internally I'm a calculated individual. Everything I do is a means to an end. I'm loyal to those who are loyal to me. I prefer not to shed blood if possible. Lives are resources that can't be replaced, so I try to save lives before wasting them. Lastly I do have some sort of problem with authority. I obey the king without say, because he would kill me otherwise, but anyone else I'm willing to try my luck with. After all, there isn't anyone in this world whom I feel has the authority to order me around. I am the highest authority over me.
