Synopsis
The Man with the Silver Tongue


Description

An Irishman in his prime, Mister Mooney is a well-known and respected figure throughout League City. Tall and sturdy, he cuts a fine figure in both crisp Italian suits and a simple ensemble of jacket and jeans. His dark hair is close-cut in a most businesslike manner, but he allows coarse stubble to grow across his strong jaw, emphasizing his charming smile.

More often than not, Mister Mooney is dressed in well-tailored, if semi-casual clothing. Shirtsleeves above the elbows and a loose tie, hair somewhat disheveled, he looks to be a down-to-earth, sociable businessman with an easy smile and always offering a helping hand. When dressed up, he is immaculately groomed, yet no less charming, with fashionable up-to-date suits and slicked back hair.


Personality
"Roguishly charming" is the first phrase that springs to the minds of most people who know Eamon personally. He speaks in a soft Irish brogue, and his manners are gentle and inviting. All of this warmth and congeniality helps him get away with murder -- both literally and figuratively. One of the most renowned crime bosses, Mister Mooney is known to have his fingers in all the pies around town -- and out of town. His charismatic nature keeps him in all the good books -- his charisma, and his money. Rumor has it that the winsome Irishman may or may not be one of the famed Lords of Ulster -- that is, if you believe in faeries.


Equipment / Abilities
  • Money. Lots and lots of money. Mooney is one of the wealthiest individuals in League City, and his vast finances can get him anywhere he needs to be.
  • Charm. The handsome thirtysomething has... something about him that keeps people coming back to him, especially when they're desperate.
  • Commanding voice. Eamon's tones make for a seductive sound. With a simple word, he can force others to follow his bidding with as much joy as they would find eating a delicious treat or making love to their soulmate.
  • Surprising song. The same beautiful voice can enthrall a listener, whether humming, singing, or even whistling.
  • Commanding loyalty. Those who work under Mooney are fiercely loyal to the point of fanaticism.
  • In All the Pockets. Almost every single entity is currently being paid off, or can be paid off, by Mooney.


History
Some people thought it was strange that Eamon was so unlike his parents. Deirdre was fair of hair and tan of skin, and Orrin was... absent from the picture. Where his mother was loud and boisterous, the young lad was stoic and thoughtful. Deirdre could be rough, but truly honest -- her son was known for his silky voice and serpentine words. Yet never were there two peas in a pod closer than mother and son.

Eamon was never a hard worker -- but he was a smart lad. Everything he did was for his plump and fair mother, whether it was charming a local woman out of her jewelry, or using an elaborate sob story to beg coin from a local businessman. It wasn't until the woman fell ill that her son realized his games were too small and his earnings far too short for her bills.

Little is known about Mrs Mooney and her son between his childhood and his mature adulthood, only that a vast empire of deals both open and shady have cropped up around the smiling, silver-tongued man. Those who cross him are never seen again. Those who betray him are made examples of. Those who try to catch him end up dazed and empty-handed.

Many love him. More fear him. Some claim he does great good for the smallfolk of the city, while others complain of his iron fist. Everyone knows Eamon Mooney, however. The name and the face are unforgettable.

|| For those looking for OOC explanation, Eamon is part of the Aos Sí, or the Irish equivalent of faeries and elves. A changeling, or fae child replacing a human child, he is from the Bean Sí (banshee), normally a race known for haunting melodies and doom. In his case, he uses his vocal abilities to manipulate others to his advantage. ||
