His phlegmatic nature leads some to believe he lacks warmth or wrath, but this could not be further from the truth. Once worked up, he is a veritable firestorm of passion.

◀ The Americas ▷ Born to the Thundering Bells tribe of the Blackfeet band of the Sioux, Singing Bear knows little of his life while still in the Americas. The history of his tribe tells of a great spiritual battle between the headman of the Thundering Bells and the head shaman of their rival tribe, the River Elk. The ensuing mystical disturbance caused a terrifying displacement of both warring tribes, relocating them to the strange land of Avalon.

Part of the first generation of Thundering Bells to be raised in Avalon, much of Singing Bear's youth was spent learning of his homeland while partaking of the bounty of the Isle of Avalon. He, and the other young shaman in training, found their spiritual connection to the spirits and planes magnified while living among the opulence of the fairy isle.
Before the appearance of the Goblin King and the ruination of Avalon, he found himself in pursuit of one of their strongest warrior-maidens, Shining Wheat. He wooed her with story and song, with flower and fruit, with demonstrations of prowess and strength and patience. He swore she would come to him one night, that they would become one heart and one flesh -- but the night he waited for her, there was nothing.
She had been killed in battle against the encroaching darkness, and Singing Bear had not been there to fight alongside her. His grief and rage fueled him, but the elders of the tribe kept him at bay as he blacked out. When he came to, the tribe's Midew and father of Shining Wheat stood above him, singing an ancient song that Singing Bear had never learned.
It was time for another exodus. With the help of the Queen of Avalon herself, both Thundering Bells and River Elk followed the rest of the natives of Avalon to the great city of Camelot.

Singing Bear found his calling as soon as he set foot in Camelot, befriending a blacksmith on the edge of the city. The darkness and smoke of the smithy called to him, and the hot heart of the forge warmed his chilled heart. He was an apt student of gunsmithing, and his master crafter was impressed at Singing Bear's use of shamanism in place of the traditional arcane arts of Camelot.
Now, the young gunsmith spends his time continuing the spiritual life of his tribe, and working with the River Elk as well as the Thundering Bells to spread peace and spiritual connection to the people of Camelot. Secretly, he strives to return to the fray and join the others left behind in Avalon to battle the Goblin King.
