Synopsis
Apparently, I have to do ALL the work around here

Description

Alice Meyer is 5'7, with long blue hair and bright blue eyes. She's not a stickler about her appearance, really, and can only be bothered to brush her hair in the morning and stay hygienic. She's changed at 16, and is a Caucasian Seelie. Not strictly human, so not strictly Caucasian, but whatever.

Personality
"Stop running in the halls! You're not going to be late to class, you're just pissing people off."
You might say I like rules. They's pretty important after all, they're there for a reason. Some rules, however, are made to be broken. Like the curfew in the library, and the no- cursing policy that the school has. Oh well. I suppose I'll deal with those two, so long as the teachers keep giving me slack for catching students doing dumb shit.

"What do you mean you don't care? What the hell is wrong with you? Do you know what a brain is?"
Oh, MAN, people piss me off. They just wander around, kind of drifting in the world without a purpose, completely mindless drones. You were put on this damn planet for a reason, you better start using your time wisely. For example, I maintain personal correspondences with major employees in some big time companies, some of which I already have shares in. By the time I get out of school, I already know the right people and have a steady income from my wise decisions, while you might not even graduate school this year. Ugh. Stupid people.

"Hmm... Oh, what? Did you say something? Yeah, well piss off. I'm reading."
I don't like to be interrupted, especially when I'm reading, but I make do if it's a teacher or someone that might actually matter later on in life, like that 10th grade boy whose father owns a string of hardware businesses in the city. Speaking of which... I should probably get to know him a little better. I could probably arrange for Mrs. Kona to assign us as partners for that long term French project. That would be worth my effort.

"Leave her alone! If you need to prove something, pick on someone your own size!"
Much as I hate to admit, I do have some weaknesses. Like bullying. I was bullied in elementary school, so you can imagine my distress when I see other people in similar situations. You should never hurt or take advantage of an innocent in any way, not even for your benefit. Bullying is even more pointless than taking advantage of someone. Say you got caught. Your teachers would shut you out, parents as well. The kid would be glorifies for surviving such torment, and all you got was a slap to the face and possible expulsion. Idiots.

Equipment / Abilities
Before The Event, my best weapon was my words. I'm a debater, you see, because I intended to be a politician someday. However, after The Event, I was trained in mortal and magical combat. When I need to, I focus pretty well on things, so I learned pretty quickly what I'm good at. I have steady hands and good aim. These are my stats: 1- 10, 10= Master, 1= Novice.

Hand to Hand- 5
Sword fighting- 2
Shield wielding- 1
Close range weaponry- 8
Long Range weaponry- 10
Heavy tools- 1
Light tools- 4-9
Speed- 5
Stealth- 7
Power- 8

That was mortal combat, this is Magical. Magic, you see, is sentient. My magic decides what it wants to do, and decides what I have an affinity with. If I tried a form of magic I didn't have an affinity with, it would most likely fail or backfire. Luckily, your magic is pretty closely intertwined with your personality, so you're probably going to enjoy your affinity magic anyway, and it isn't too bad. For example, if your magic decides you will not learn defensive magic and all your shields fail, you could try another for of magic to achieve the same goal, like if you had an affinity with Natural Magic, you could deflect or change the magic before the spell reached you. You're still on the defensive, and you're probably much more likely to survive because you used your affinity, instead of forcing your magic to do something it doesn't want to. I'm highlighting the things I have an affinity with in the first place, and the rating how good I am at using that affinity.

History
I grew up without a mom. She died during childbirth, my birth actually. I grew up just with my dad, but he's away at work a lot. He tries really hard to make sure we have all the money we need, but I just wish he would be around a lot. One night, I got roped into cleaning up after a school dance, and stayed at home later than usual. By the time I left, it was nearly midnight, since the dance ended at ten. I had to stop and return my friend's jacket, so I ended up taking a different route home than normal. I cut through Eastwood park, and ran into a gang of people looking for someone to mug. They found me, of course, because I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Did I mention I won the Lottery last week? No? Okay, moving on. I should mention, Jay's family member are part of the gang, but he tries not to get involved instead, Like me, he ended up getting roped into doing something he didn't want to do, so he was there that night, hanging back in the back of the group. The started leering at me, and roughing me around a bit, after mugging me and taking my phone. Jay, our resident Chivalrous Moron, jumps in and stands up to the whole group, including his dad and two brothers. There was like, eight of them. He tried fighting them at first, but eventually came to his senses and ran away with his hand clasped in mine. We sprinted across the park, down a couple of streets, but a car nearly ran us over and made us change direction.

We ended in an alleyway with only one way out, that was quickly blocked off by the group of thugs that had been chasing us. I remember it like it was yesterday. The smell was disgusting, like cat piss and old man sweat thrown in with some mold and mildew for good measure. The night was already dark enough with no light in the alley, and being in the middle of the city, we couldn't exactly see any stars for light. Have you ever been in the middle of the city at night? The sky is freaking orange. It's pretty weird, the mist reflecting the orange streetlights. The group of thugs, approaching from the entry of the alley was dimly backlit by the misty orange light of the city night, approaching slowly, laughing like demented clowns. I haven't been so scared in my life. There was no way out, and I was sure I'd be raped, beat, murdered, and abandoned in a ditch somewhere. I was wrong, thankfully, about one thing. They skipped rape, and went straight to try and beat me to death. I was faintly aware of Jay being scolded for interfering somewhere behind me. A punch to the face brought me to the molded, wet floor. Then the kicking began, in the ribs, the face, the groin, anywhere they thought it might hurt. I felt a sickening crack multiple times and started coughing dark liquid to add to the disgusting mixture underneath my face. Suddenly, it all stopped. I was still in pain, coughing and gasping like a motherfucker, but there were no new kicks. My vision was fading and blurry, probably because my glasses had broken sometime in the middle of my impending death. I was bleeding heavily from my side. Someone had probably gotten tired of kicking and brought out a knife.

I focused enough to watch Jay shoving people away from me. In the thin alleyway, one shove kicked half of them on their asses, like a set of dominos. The other four starting beating him instead of me, probably because I already looked dead. Everything else was blurry and out of focus, but I could clearly see Jay, suffering to save me. His face was gaining new bruises, already purpling, grey eyes glazed over with pain. Some guy brought out a knife, probably the same one that had stabbed me, and shoved it deep in the middle of his stomach. Jay's eyes closed completely. I stopped breathing. At that moment, I didn't care about the broken ribs, the stab wound in my side, and the glass permeating the side of my face. All I wanted at that moment, in the whole world, was to save Jay from death. With all my wounds, I managed to get to my feet, and fall, bringing down the guy stabbing him, and the world stopped turning.

They say when you die, the world goes in slow motion. Well, I can tell you,  it really does. Once, my harness snapped during rock climbing, and I remember the fall lasting whole minutes. I was completely peaceful, partially aware of my impending death, but totally okay with the prospect. I curled slightly, as if I was going to sleep, and felt complete and utter contentedness. Until I hit the ground and broke my arm. I saw a video of my fall from the security cameras, and that fall lasted all of two seconds. I did, however, watch myself curl up, but I had to watch in slow motion. At that moment, when I tried to help Jay, everything went in slow motion again. My heartbeat was ragged and quick in my ears, pounding away. I turned to look at Jay, and when our eyes connected, The Event began.

Extra
Like Yuripee (Angel Beats) but without the reckless behavior. Or like a female Lucius Malfoy (Harry Potter) without the snide comments, because in all honesty, that's a really bad political move.
