Synopsis
They are gone and I am left and they have taken with them the world

Description
Haunted eyes stare out from sunken holes, blackened from lack of sleep. The left side of his face is hairless, from being singed by fiendfire, while the right is decorated with dark stubble. Scares and evidence of battle wounds decorate his body like grass in the dirt. He hasn't been eating well, so ribs protrude from his chest in startling clarity. A smile will never light his face again, not after that night.

Personality

Equipment / Abilities
He's the chosen one, after all. He knows muggle combat, strategy from someone he won't name, good study habits from another person he won't name, and is well trained in offensive and defensive magic. All the things you need to defeat a Dark Lord, plus an enormous amount of luck.

History
When I began this journey, fighting for the right thing, fighting against what I thought was evil, I was innocent. Unblemished. Unmarred. Free. I have shed tears, laughed until I ached, fought while bleeding and dying myself, begged for mercy, and have understood the incomprehensible.

Here I stand, helpless and left for dead.
Close your eyes, so many days go by.
Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right.

Here, at the end, as my lifelong task is fulfilled after years of grief, torment, torture, and pain, I can only wish for a swift death, for all my comrades have died and left me here to pick up the pieces and put the tattered and scorched remnants of myself back in fair condition. All who once stood by me and called me family, or friend, or lover, lie burned or buried, forever closing their books and making their last checkmate. Never again will they fly among the clouds, make an exciting discovery, or bicker at the breakfast table. They are gone and I am left and they have taken with them the world. And it is all my fault.

I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies.

Since I was made aware of your evil, and all that you have destroyed, it has been my goal in life to vanquish you, once and for all. I have never persevered at anything, save my gruesome task to steal the tainted breath of life from your body. Even so... Under every mask you wear, under your false bravado and your empty promises as you break each and every bone in my body before healing me and starting all over again, you will not kill me. You cannot simply be and let things lie, you must break me and own me completely and wholly before being satisfied. On the inside, you're still the scared little abandoned boy looking for something solid and tangible in life, to give meaning to his endless existence. Me? I was just like you, except my purpose was clear: I had to murder you, Tom Riddle.

I won't stay long in this world so wrong.

All I can see anymore is the pain, repeating like a demented broken record, watching the agony over and over again. This world is pointless, all of us scrambling along blindly under the shadow of a countdown to death. Had I not a task to finish before I rest for eternity, I would have cut short the timer and stopped this repetitive anguish and misery of watching everyone I hold dear die a gruesome, bloody death. My task is finished... My only wish is to stop existing, and rest alongside my family, my parents, and my friends, all of whom who fought bravely and valiantly to help me rid the world of your stagnant, vile odor.

Say goodbye as we dance with the devil tonight.
Don't you dare look him in the eye as we dance with the devil tonight.

My dear friends... you were so brave. Beloved Lion, as you always did, you stood by my side in the last seconds of you life, roaring to chase my doubts and fears away, and sealing your fate with the same breath. Treasured 'Mione, your sneaking intelligence somehow coexisting alongside your delicate ignorance, you were killed by my mistake. Both of you, so brave as you stared into the violent red abyss and defied it, knowing what would come as repercussion, knowing every effect it would have on everyone standing and watching.

Trembling, crawling across my skin.
Feeling your cold dead eyes, stealing the life of mine.

Nothing compares to those last moments I rested beside your battered and broken body. Never again would you help me study, research something for me, keep me in line. Laughter is gone from your eyes now, and the blood matting your hair looks terribly out of place, like a clumsy raven among a sea of delicate dove. My energy drained as I stared. Had I known this is what our friendship would lead to, I would have avoided you altogether and left you to live you life peacefully in the shadows, rather than a harsh spotlight forever marking your place in history as a soldier, died in action. You deserve a much better life, and a much more dignified death among loved ones and dozens of bushy- haired great grandchildren. I am so sorry that I dragged you along for the ride, the malevolent joke that is my life. I am so sorry I killed you.

I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies.
I won't last long, in this world so wrong.
