Zakhar Shchegelsky

Nikolai's favorite marksman and all around crazy Russian.

While Zakhar has eyes that are black as night, showing no pupil, giving him the crazed appearance of an animal, he hides them behind a pair of red tinted glasses. Wearing them so often that he forgets they're there, he rarely takes them off even inside. He stands at 6'2" and while he is strong and lean, his muscles aren't overbearing and are often hidden by his attire, which is typically I-just-woke-up at best. His skin is pale, his hair is shaggy and black, and he's rarely seen without a cigarette hanging from his lips. He always wears a pair of white gloves when he shoots his guns.

Zakhar is somewhat deceiving. While he usually appears laid back, carefree and very controlled, he has a side that appears like the flick of a switch that is crazy, twitchy, angry, and hostile. In another flick of a switch you can find him laughing. No one really knows if he does this on purpose or if he really has mental issues. He really has mental issues...

He is easily the best marksman in the world, hands down. He can hold his own in hand to hand combat, but he was never trained and could probably be beaten fairly easily by anyone with any training.

While there is history for Zakhar, of course, no one knows anything about him. No one really talks to him or cares to know his crazy ass. Perhaps Nikolai knows it. Nikolai knows everything. But no one else would, and Zakhar isn't telling.

He is infatuated with Katerina. He stalks her like all of his victims, though of course he isn't trying to kill her. Not saying that he probably couldn't help himself given the opportunity and the fact that he really gets his jollies from killing. Anywhere Katerina is, Zakhar can probably be found lurking nearby. He likes to smell her clothes and touch her skin and hair at any opportunity.
