Physical Description: He's not model-thin and he isn't a Greek hero (can't be at five-ten). Instead, he's like most people—average. So—yeah—when he goes swimming, girls won't turn to check out that fine specimen and when he goes to the gym (which he does...at times), he won't be able to bench-press twice his body weight. But, who cares? Most people can't do those things anyway and you know what? They still lead happy, successful lives.

Some people like to play up their features—describe their hair as a cascading waterfall of flaxen beauty (what the fuck...). But Gin just rolls his eyes and thinks: People know what they're seeing. If your hair is brown people see it as brown and not fucking golden-oak or whatever.

Personality
    Personality:

THE OVERVIEW: He's a hard-worker (extremely diligent), but he's also rather rigid and inflexible. He isn't someone who evolves well with spontaneity, rather, Gin prefers rules and specific plans. He dislikes disorganization and can be rather ill-tempered when people show their nastier-sides. He has no tolerance for selfishness or laziness and doesn't have the golden-tongue to soothe ruffled feathers (contrary to popular belief, he did not inherit the talent for flattery). If anything, he has the unfortunate ability to cut people down to their birthday suits.

LET'S BE REAL: Gin is a realist. He's so deeply grounded to the Earth that he's pretty much forgotten how refreshing the air can be higher up.

EVEN HEROES CAN BLEED: Gin has always been strong and steady—like a rock. He's reliable and trustworthy, reserved and guarded. And because he is all these things, people mistakenly think he's invulnerable; they think he has it all together. But, truth is, Gin is wracked with internal worries. He's bothered by the unnecessary fighting in his relationships, the things he hadn't meant to say, and the stress of having to be better than his best. He stresses out easily, snaps even easier, and, in private, cries when he thinks no one can hear. Truth is, Gin isn't any stronger than those around him. He just puts up a better lie than they do.

WORK FIRST, PLAY LATER: When it comes to the things he cares about, he'll go the extra mile to make sure things are done right. If he doesn't understand a problem, he'll spend two—maybe, even three—hours working until he solves it. He's dedicated and always invests himself in the things that matters (even if it doesn't always reciprocate). Some people say he's too straight-forward (too easily deceived by the vicious HK girls who are after two things: your money and your willingness to serve), but, despite this, there is something deeply admirable about this dedication.

Equipment / Abilities

Talents: SPEAK IN TONGUES: Born and raised in Hong Kong, Gin grew up speaking Mandarin and Cantonese. But after his parents moved the family to the States, Gin worked hard to learn English. He spent hours bent over grammar books and his weekends memorizing words from a dictionary. Because, in this foreign and alien world, if Gin didn't learn English then there would be no one to translate for his parents, who worked two jobs each to support the family. So he worked hard and, after a decade, Gin is as fluent and comfortable as a native speaker.

COOKING MAMA: With both parents working hard to support the family, Gin was responsible for his younger brother. At the early age of eleven, Gin prepared meals for his family. He cooked rice and made one or two dishes. As he grew older, he learned to add variety; he refined his skills as a chef. He went from steaming vegetables and scrambled eggs to steamed fish (a luxury that the family could only afford once a month) and sweet and sour pork. He learned to cook soup (everything from egg-drop to nameless Chinese classics). And, now, after a decade of cooking and mothering, Gin knows his ways around the kitchen. He may not be an Iron Chef, but his meals are nothing to cry about either.

KEEN EYES, CLOSED MIND: He notices the little things; he's aware of the details that others may gloss over. He catches all the subtleties of a design, but falls short of applying his attention to people. He can appreciate the open-kitchen and the high ceilings, but ignore the new creamy lipstick she has on or the slightly darker brown her hair is. He can spend hours admiring architectural resources (becoming excited over new projects an designs), but grows bored after only five minutes of shopping.

Failures: TONGUE-TIED: Because he's not a social-ace (he's no Don Juan), Gin tends to meld into the background at parties and get-togethers. He likes going out with his friends, but he also doesn't have the talent to take over the spotlight. And, at times, there is merit in just being alone.

TIGHT-LIPPED, CLOSED-HEART: He is as calm as the ocean. Little things won't stir the waves (it may cause a ripple), but bigger things will launch him into a raging storm. He's not great at being level-headed, but he's not exactly in need of anger-management. It's just that, sometimes, like the ocean, Gin will swallow everything whole— internalizing it behind that stony expression of his. He's calm, but only superficially.

--❖--▇▇▇▇ ENTERTAIN ME WITH THE SPECIAL FULL COURSE

USE LOVE SPELLS AND WORDS OF LOVE AS SPICES ▇▇▇▇ --❖-- ↻

History:Gin-Jyu Li was born on July twentieth in the ever-crowded, ever-cramped Hong Kong to two loving parents, who were delighted to call him their son. And, twenty-one years later, not much has change.

His parents, Siu-Sing Li and Ho-Yi Li, raised their eldest son to be an example for his younger brother, Wei. He was made to get good grades (perfect grades) and taught to work hard for the family. He was punished for slacking off, disciplined for falling short of their expectations. He grew up in a strict, unforgiving environment, but he grew up the way his parents had hoped: successful. As a child, Gin hated the burdens his parents placed onto his tiny shoulders (he may even have hated his parents), but as a burgeoning adult, Gin understood the love in his parents' sacrifice, the warmth in their praises.

When he was accepted into the academy, he could feel his parents' mutual relief: they had done well in raising him; they had been good parents. It may have been his achievement, but it was their success: he was their success story. And, now, with only two years left, Gin has no intentions of disappointing his parents: he will be their perfect son. He will be their perfect son even if he dies trying.
