Pomme

Pomme is a tree nymph whose tree grew from a seed of Snow White's poisoned apple.

omme is lovely, but venomous, just as the apple was.  Pomme is short, around 5'3" and curvy. Her hips and bust are full, but she has a small waist. Her skin is extremely fair, almost the snow white that made that little princess so special, but with bright, flushed cheeks that make her look giddy and excited. Her hair is a black-color, which shines with apple red highlights in sunlight. Her eyes are round and a bright, springy green color. Her face is a bit too soft to be classically pretty. Her jaw and chin aren’t very well defined.  She is around 28 years old, but the age she appears is determined by the season. In spring, she looks like a maid of 18, fresh and dewy. In the summer, she's a lovely young woman of about 25. Fall brings her a bit more age, making her look around late-30s and winter makes her older still, 50ish. Pomme’s voice is high and trilling, like birdsong.  She prefers to wear short silken dresses that hug her shape. Pomme’s hair is twisted into an ornate chignon with apple blooms tucked into it. She wears no jewelry, but frequently adorns herself with apple blossoms.

Pomme feels like her fate has already been shaped by the story that produced her. She is bitter and does not realize that her destiny is decided by her actions, not her past.  She is rude to the non-fey and often tries to play unpleasant tricks on the humans she meets. She prefers the company of fey and rarely allows herself to be seen by the humans in Lachicotte. She is deeply lonely and her visit to Castle Märchen excites her, as she will be among other fey. Her temper is quick and volatile, but recedes quickly.  She’s very kind to those she feels she can trust and respect, but gaining that takes a while.

Pomme always carries a single apple from her tree with her, so that she can make sure her home is safe. The apple reflects the health of Pomme’s tree.  Pomme is quick and clever, but not very strong. She relies on her wits, rather than her strength.

Pomme is tree-nymph who grew from the seed of the poison apple given to Snow White by her stepmother. She is from Lachicotte and lives in Grand Vallée. Her tree is near small corner of the town, where few people ever venture. She has been alone since then tree grew and has grown with it. Her early life was marked by trying to come to grips with how she came into the world. At ten years of age, Pomme turned away from humans and lived her life exclusively among the fey.

Country Name: Lachicotte  What real life cultures it's influenced by: Lachicotte has influences from northern France and Ireland. The culture is that which grows up in mountainous, isolated regions.  What the country terrain is like: Lachicotte is defined by the three mountain ranges that run through the country. The ranges all intersect at a small town called Grand Vallée. Most people live in the valleys created by the looming mountains.  What the country's climate is like: Lachicotte’s climate varies greatly, like most mountainous areas. It is prone to storms and blizzards. Overall, the weather is very chaotic. Most farmers in the area find it impossible to raise crops, so they farm sheep or goats. The only crops that thrive in the area are fruit trees and berry brambles.  How the people dress and style their hair: The dress of your everyday Lachicottan is quite simple. Loose wool trousers with a warm tunic in the winter. In the summer, they citizens wear long wools tunics that have been treated with oil to protect them from the near-constant rain. The men wear their hair short and straight, with only a small lariat around their heads for adornment. The women weave their hair into complex braids; the instructions for each are passed down as family heirlooms.  What are they famous for: Lachicotte has a spring Orchard Festival that brings people from all over the world to buy fresh fruit from Lachicottan farmers. The festival is widely regarded as the most important event of the year in Lachicotte.  The current ruler(s): The ruler of the humans in Lachicotte is an old doddering king called Keardieu. He has long been a corrupt and inefficient ruler, but the citizens accept their lot and have not risen against the man. The fey in Lachicotte are ruled locally by a council of elders selected from the local fey. They are a just and wise group, for the most part.
