Physical Description: At first glance , one would perceive Renee to be around sixteen years of age. She stands at five feet four inches, and her body is petite, weighing one hundred and nine pounds with barely b cup breasts, and a small waist. Despite her small stature, Renee is not doll like in any way. In fact, she is rather plain, mousy, and doesn’t stand out in any way. Her hair is a dark chocolate color that reaches down to the middle of her back, and her eyes an almond shape, a hazel brown, with a button nose and pale lips , that are usually cracked from not caring from them much. Renee’s skin tone ranges from a cream colored to a more rosy color.

Her choice in clothing and body modifications also isn’t something that stands out too much. Renee has her ears pierced, twice in her left ear, and once in her right, though she rarely wears anything that is dangly, and usually only wears studs. Renee is comfortable wearing anything that fits, and doesn’t care much for fancy accessories or cute skirts; after all, they’ll get dirty eventually from her oil paint.

However, there is but one thing that always remains constant in the way Renee chooses to dress; her bandages. They're white, and are laced around both of her arms. When asked what happened, Renee will simply mutter something about a cat, or that she fell. However, this is clearly not the case. If you were to remove those bandages (most likely with force, because Renee would rather die than let others see what it is), they would reveal red cuts, lining up and down her arms, in rows, patterns, and any shape imaginable, some shallow, some deep, but all of them on her arms. Yes, Renee is a cutter. The reason is yet to be revealed...

Personality
Personality:

LOOSE CANON: One needs to be careful when talking to Renee; tiptoe around all of the triggering subjects that she’s sensitive about. Otherwise, you’d find yourself in a rather undesirable situation. Though she might not look it, Renee can hit pretty hard if she wants to. Renee’s emotions are quite unstable, as it’s only been a year after the incident that changed her view around the world.

DOUBTING THOMAS: Renee is one skeptical human, she won’t believe a lick of what you say, unless she has been granted solid concrete proof beforehand. Her believe in the world and the sincerity of others has diminished greatly, and she tends to leave her beliefs to pure fact, and has become a human that functions based only upon logic.

ALL BARK AND NO BITE: However much Renee attempts to appear as an hard to approach individual, by putting up a front that screams, “Don’t touch me or I’ll bite,” she’s a bit of a coward. Renee, though her words seem resolute, when it comes to acting, Renee’s body fails to respond. After all, she’s scared of hurting others; and being hurt. Her words might sting, but her emotional wounds sting more.

EXCUSE HER FRENCH: Renee has a rather sharp tongue, and half of the words that come out of her mouth are either insults or curses. This is due to her bitter attitude towards the world. She doesn’t see the point of being polite, and has a rather nasty attitude towards adults in general. However, Renee doesn’t have a heart of stone. If she likes you enough to utter a compliment, it’s usually a very nice one, though it takes a lot to even get to the point where she’d talk to you on a regular basis.

HER HEART BENEATH HER SLEEVES: Renee is the type of person who won’t let you know what she really feels. Besides getting angry or snapping at what you mistakenly say, Renee won’t tell you when she’s happy, or sad. She won’t shed her tears in front of others, and really, the only emotion she’s capable of showing in front of others would be anger and hostility, with a dash of coldness.

BOTTOM LINE IS: Renee’s a sensitive child with a heart of glass that she shields behind iron bars. She’s someone that needs another person to hold on to, but because she is scared of the person becoming hurt again, she pushes them away, preferring to remain alone. Renee constantly blames herself and art for her father’s death, thus developing a severe hate for the only thing she can really do.

Equipment / Abilities
Talents:

VAN GOGH’S TOUCH: Renee is a very talented artist, so talented that her artwork is hosted in various museums around the world. Her right hand is calloused from holding the pen for so long, and her favorite medium to work with was oil.

A LA MODE: Because of her superior skill in visual arts, Renee is also a talented pastry chef. Her father had a great liking for French foods and desserts, so Renee studied the recipes in a pastry cookbook, and tweaked them until perfection.

SMARTASS: This title needs no explaining. Renee isn’t just good with art; she’s got a nice brain to boot too. Renee is smart, and her grades in most subjects range from high As to Bs- with the exception of Gym and Physics.

Failures:

FIRST (WO) MAN TO FALL: You know the phrase last man standing? Well, that’s the exact opposite for Renee. Though she excels in all visually artistic aspects, Renee fails hard in anything involving physical activity. As in faceplants to the ground while running a fifty meter dash fail. Some would call her clumsy, but Renee insists that she simply has the inability to properly exercise her motor muscles.

TRUST THE BLADE: Renee is a coward. There is only so much a girl can do before she succumbs to her inner conflicts. Nowadays, whenever things upset her, she cuts- which is a fatal weakness for her, because the pain in her wrists sometimes prevents her from drawing- which she loves and hates at the same time.

History: It was raining the day she was born, as if the world had shed great tears in light of what was to come. Renee Louise Teppet was given human life in Meadow Days Hospital, England. Unfortunately, a life was lost that day as well- the life of Michelle Teppet, Renee’s mother.

The death of his wife was lessened by the arrival of his daughter, and Renee’s father grew attached to her rather quickly. He was not a man who’s heart and values would fall even if a beloved person of his died. Richard Teppet raised Renee with care, feeding her with gusto at meals, singing her to sleep during naptime, reading her stories at bedtime. He loved her so very much, and Renee loved him as well. The two grew up happily together, as his father taught Renee about the world, and opened her eyes to the place that she lived in. Renee was a quirky and boisterous child, but even when she’d fall on the sidewalk from some crazy antic she’d tried out that day, she’d always greet her father with a smile when he came home from his job. Their relationship was one built on love and trust, and neither Renee nor her father would have it any other way.

At the age of twelve, Renee discovered a passion that completely flipped her life upside down. The passion was art, particularly oil paint. She would paint day in and day out, making wonderful worlds that her twelve year old self could play in. At first, her father was welcoming in her discovery, and supported it, thinking of it as just a passing phase. However, as time passed on, and Renee blew out another candle, and another, he began to grow frantic. Renee was devoting most of her time to art, and her skill had grown significantly. She’d already become vaguely well known in their town from winning a couple of children’s art contests hosted both locally and non locally. Richard Teppet was afraid that he’d lose his daughter- especially since his late wife was a painter, and seeing his daughter mirror Michelle’s own actions nearly broke his heart. The pent up emotions that Renee’s father kept inside began to boil into a rage.

By the age of sixteen, Renee was famous in London from the art that she’d made, still disobeying her father’s requests for her to quit the ridiculous hobby that she’d started. The love that had formed between father and daughter dissolved, through each person’s own selfish behavior and stubborn opinion. By now, Renee and her father were arguing daily about whether or not she would continue painting. In the end, the answer would always be no, Renee would never stop painting, and she’d never listen to her father. Day in and day out, Renee painted, and arranged to have a tutor help catch her up on what she missed in school.

When she was seventeen, tragedy struck like lightning through the cloudy skies of London. Renee’s art was to be displayed in her own gallery for the first time! She wanted to go so badly, but the opening day of the gallery was also father’s day, and Richard Teppet was adamant on having the female spend the day with him. However, Renee was still in her rebellious stage, and thus, the biggest fight the two had ever had came into play.

”You’ll never understand me, stupid old man!” the seventeen year old Renee stamped her foot on the ground, a ferocious glare in her eyes.

”I don’t bloody care if I don’t understand you, young lady, you are not going to attend that gallery! This art crap was just for fun at first!” her father shouted back.

”It’s so much more than that, dad!” she screamed, now becoming more agitated by his cruel remarks, ”It’s so much more!”

”I don’t give a fuck if it’s so much more to you! It’s not so much to me!” her father hollered back, ”You can’t draw anything that great after all!”

At this, Renee froze, tears forming in her eyes, biting her lip. Her father had gone much too far.

After a moment a silence, Renee simply brushed past her father, an icy tone to her voice as she spoke, ”I’m never going to regard you as my father again.”

After Renee had left, her father had sat in the room, his head in his hands, sweat on his forehead, thinking. I probably was too tough on her.. I should go apologize...we can work this out... With that, he stood up, opening the door to their house and making his way out.

Renee was at the gallery when she got a phone call from the hospital. Apparently, there had been a hit and run accident. The victim: Richard Teppet. Renee sank to her knees as the nurse relayed the story to her. Her father was on the street across from the gallery, when a car had sped past the red light, and hit him at forty five miles per hour...and he hadn’t made it. Her father was dead. Renee sank to her knees, tears forming in her eyes. It was because of her, she told herself, it was because she’d trusted art more than her father. It was because she’d loved art, and pushed everything away. It was because of art, that her father was dead. And with that, a pitch black hatred bloomed in Renee’s heart, for the one thing that she’d loved; art.

It rained that day.

However, Renee had devoted her whole childhood to drawing; she couldn’t just stop now. She didn’t know what else to do, she had nothing, no one, not anything to hold onto but art. And she hated that too. Renee closed herself off from the world, constantly blaming herself for drawing, even though it was the cause of her father’s death. As a result of her inner turmoil, Renee slowly began to harm herself. It started with a slight knick to her wrists, as a punishment for painting, but then it became so much more. Renee became a cutter- and she still is.

The school sent Renee a letter shortly thereafter, inviting her to attend as an art student in her eighteenth year of living. Renee was low on funds at the time, and the letter mentioned free food and bunking, so off she went.

Other:
• There is always oil paint on her clothing. Always. It’s either that or her face.
• Renee has a guilty love for crunch bars and curly fries.
• Her favorite paint to use would be cadmium red.
• She can play croquet. No one ever mentioned that she did it well, though.
• Renee can play the viola- she learned when she was eight. However, she doesn’t play it much, claiming to be rusty at it or something or other. In reality, it was a memento given to her by her father, and she hates touching it, lest it bring back the memories she wants so desperately to forget.
• She hates shitake mushrooms.
• She likes her coffee black.
• Her favorite color in general is mauve, though she does have a secret love for pastels.
• In the back of her closet, Renee stashed away her private collection of stuffed animals; particularly beanie babies. Apparently she finds them cute.
• She hates John Steinbeck’s writing with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Don’t ask her why.
