Emily Larson

A young mage with a limitless interest in the elemental magics.

Emily is seventeen, and rather short. She stands at 5'5", and makes a point to always stand up straight. She doesn't like being short, but she can't deny that it has helped her posture. She has long straight brown hair, that goes down to just above her waist. She has straight chopped bangs that hang just above her matching brown eyes. She is naturally thin, but not worringly so, and naturally a little curvy. She is fair skinned, with a ceasless rosiness to it. No matter how much time she spends indoors or out, her skin tone never seems to change, which is fine by her.

Emily likes to wear a plain black leather coat that falls to her mid-thigh, over a long-sleeved brown dress that falls to about the same height. She wears thick skin-tight leggings, and brown boots that lace up to her knees. She also has a favorite brown beret, to which she has clipped a fake pink flower.

Emily also has a cat named Naomi. Naomi is two years old, but small. She still looks like a kitten, and doesn't seem to be growing anymore. The cat is grey, with slightly darker stripes running over her. She has white paws, and one of her orange eyes is ringed in black fur.

Emily is curious about just about everything. She loves to learn, but isn't exactly a bookworm. She likes to learn by experience, and spends most of her free time experimenting with not only magic but other things, like cooking and figuring out how certain things work. She's very friendly, but tends to be quiet. She prefers to listen to others rather than speaking out herself. She is fiercely protective of Naomi, and won't stand for anyone so much as looking at the cat in what could be considered a "mean" way.

Emily has spent her years at the school focusing on elemental magics. She's taken particular liking to fire spells, wind spells, and earth spells.She uses her talents with the wind to enhance her archery ability, and is a decent archer. She doesn't carry around a bow and arrows by habit, but she was taught how to make a bow in a pinch. She also loves close-combat fighting, and specializes in fighting with two small daggers, which she keeps on her person at all times. She doesn't, however, make a habit of fighting people. She does enjoy friendly matches (in which she'll only fight hand to hand, as she doesn't want to hurt anyone with her daggers) but she knows how to fight, if necessary.

As far as her magic abilities go, stretching her knowledge to three elements has limited her to the weaker spells of each element. She knows a few more powerful ones, but they drain her energy rapidly, and she's resigned to only using such spells in an emergency.

Emily grew up in the middle of a big city, easily hiding her magical talents. But as soon as her parents found out, they were horrified. Though several mages lived relatively peacefully in the city, her parents were intolerable of such things. They banished her from her home. She saught refuge with one of the city's mages, and he sent her to the school, where she has lived happily since. She doesn't miss her family or home at all.
