Synopsis
IF PERFECTION WAS A PRODUCT, HIKARU WAS PROBABLY THE COUNTERFEIT.

Description

Suzuki Hikaru (鈴木光)
17 / January 5th
185cm / 74kg / Toned
Burgundy / Hazel

Personality

The Sidekick: He's Robin. He's Rodney. He's every character that has fallen to the wayside, cut from production to make room for the hero. And even though he's talented in his own rights (an accomplished pianist, a skilled go player, and an excellent student), it just doesn't seem to matter. After all, he still isn't the hero—the knight in shinning armor people so desperately want.

The TacticianHe's patient and collected. He's observant even when he doesn't seem to be paying attention (although Hikaru would never be so rude as to ignore people). He has an eye for detail, for the unusual, for the new-haircut-that-nobody-cares-about. He's a thinker and that means he's intelligent. But that means he's cautious and rigid. He likes to plan. He likes to organize. And he has to be prepared.

The HatefulIn public, Suzuki Hikaru is a well-composed, mild-mannered child. He's clever. He's polite. And he's everything the scion of a traditional Japanese family should be. Except for one small thing: he's not. He's not even-hearted and he's not a nice person. In fact, Hikaru is a whirlwind of negativity. He's spiteful. He knows how to hold a grudge. And he's jealous—beyond jealous. He hates that he's always second to someone, second-chair to "inferior" people. He hates that even though he works hard, his younger brother is always the center of attention. He hates that he's not naturally talented at anything, but he hates the people who are more. Truth is, Hikaru is a good actor, but even good actors will mess up.

Equipment / Abilities

The thing about Hikaru is that he knows a variety of things. He's practiced in Kendo—a tradition his family insists upon. He's well-versed when it comes to Shinto ceremonial rites. And he can recite a dozen different Haikus, quote from a inane amount of classical literatures. He knows a lot of cultured crafts, but doesn't seem to know too much about pop culture pizzazz.

History
Suzuki Hikaru is, in his opinion, an excellent tightrope walker. He knows that to cross, he must walk with confidence. He must walk without hesitation—with his head held high. And he knows that he must never look down because success lies on the other side and not at the bottom of the abyss.

Even before he was born, there were expectations set for the child. He will have to be an obedient son. He will do well in his studies. He will be a son. He grew up with expectations weighing on his shoulders, chained to his ankles, and pinned to his back. He grew up with his wings clipped, his heart eclipsed, and his smiles faked.

Extra
Hikaru is written with the character meaning "light."
