Synopsis
♣ Alice of Clubs {Age: 25} ♧

Description

Alysse is 5'9" with a curvy figure, and dark black-blue hair with white 'highlights'. Her eyes are a lime green color that shift tones depending on her mood. Her fair skin is pale from lack of sunlight, but an assortment of blush and make up make it seem almost fashionable. Her wardrobe consists of exotic costumes from the far east, to formal wear with a touch of Victorian influences. She doesn't own a single piece of clothing that would be considered "normal". Her suit mark is located on the back of her right hand.

Personality
She is outwardly a cheerful and bubbly airhead. In reality she is insightful, clever and well-read. Alysse has a habit of getting lost in though which is often misconstrued as spacing out. She is however, genuinely scatterbrained.

Resourceful and quite good at tinkering with machinery. Alysse can think on her feet and make rational judgments even in the most dire of situations. However, she is not good at reading people which makes her a terrible judge of character. It's a flaw that she is well aware of and makes her unlikely to trust anyone. She is particularly wary of flirting men since she is unable to tell if they're mocking her or seriously interested.

She can be very stubborn and has a habit of not letting a problem go until she has solved it. It's nearly impossible to change her opinion once she's made up her mind. In a similar manner, nothing can stop her once she's decided to do something even if that means tearing things apart just to know how it works.

Equipment / Abilities
Equipment:
As the Alice of Clubs, she is aligned with the Club-Works Federation which means she has the standard Club-Works attire:

♧ Goggles
♣ Tool belt
♧ Steam powered cattle prod/taser
♣ Welding materials
♧ Robo-Butler
♣ Cybernetic Cats
♧ A lifetime supply of tea...

Ability:
Unbeknownst to Alysse, she is a gifted Technopath meaning she is attuned to everything created by the Club-Works and a few pieces of tech cobbled together elsewhere. Much like telepathy and telekinesis, she can 'speak' and gather information from a piece of technology as well as manipulate its shape through sheer will. Prolonged exposure to her power imbibes the tech with sentience which comes in handy when creating an army of Clanks.

History
Alysse was the only child of a ballet dancer and a composer of classical music. Her parents met while working on the same production. It was a wild and torrid affair full of passion and romance. After a short engagement, they married and settled down.

As a child, Alysse was loved and doted upon by her father, while her mother grew increasingly bitter towards her due to losing her career as a dancer. A few times Alysse was taken to ballet classes but even at such a young age, she thought the idea of dancing on pointed toes to be idiotic. Instead, she much preferred the piano and deciphering the complex notes her father scribbled on paper.

When Alysse was nine, her father grew bored with married life and simply got up and left. The abandonment left Alysse with deeply seeded distrust of men and people in general. Without the support of her father she had to rely on her apathetic mother which further alienated her and stunted her social skills. As time went by their relationship worsened until, in a fit of anger, Alysse left home.

For a while, she entertained a fantasy of being reunited with her father, which was understandable since she was only 15 at the time. However, those dreams soon shattered when she found out he had remarried and had his own family now. She attempted to strike out on her own but her age and lack of experience trumped any of her innate intellect. Defeated, she returned home with her mother and never spoke of 'the incident' again.

Alysse never fully recovered from that blow, and as such, never fulfilled her potential. After high-school, Alysse worked temp jobs to get by until she finally landed a position at a newspaper company working as a receptionist. It was then that she finally moved into her own place. Alysse understands that she is just one of a hundred or so faceless drones milling about an empty building. Any thoughts of being special, or unique have long since been worn away. Her potential squandered, she has long since forgotten how to read music or how to coax a tune out of ivory keys.

Some nights she amuses herself by creating little clockwork trinkets, or perhaps indulging in a spot of soldering to create glittering circuitry, but that is all they are... temporary amusements.

Often on her free times, she likes to hide away under the tiny pier of an artificial lake found in the nearby park and read. It was an autumn day when she decided to revisit Through the Looking Glass in such a spot. Her feet knew the way through the park so she didn't bother to look up from her reading as she made a beeline towards her shady corner. Unfortunately, she soon lost her balance and fell... into a hole that hadn't been there two seconds ago.

Extra
Strengths:
♧ Intelligence - Alysse is an unnaturally quick learner. She is observant and resourceful with a knack for getting both in and out of trouble. Her quick mind means she's very difficult to pin down and highly unpredictable.

Puppet Master - Once trained in her talent, she has impressive Technopathic powers which allows her to remotely control the Club Works' Clank army. Her mind is wired for an advanced form of multi-tasking that allows her to control thousands of tech pieces at once.

Stoicism - Remains calm under pressure although that could easily be misinterpreted as callousness. Even as the world is falling apart around her, she'll make the correct choices.

Head in the Clouds - Despite her practical outer-shell, deep down she is a dreamer. Alysse understands idealism and even the brand of madness native to Wonderland. This allows her to navigate the world and situations easily.

Weaknesses:
♣ Back Off - Alysse is not a people person. She lacks tact but more importantly she has no desire to develop it. She has a short temper and a distrustful nature to boot. She is known to be highly cynical of the world and those around her.

♣ Absentminded - It's best to make an impression on her otherwise she'll forget you even exist. It doesn't just apply to people but situations, animals, places... if she doesn't find it important she will forget about it. When asked she simply states that her short-term memory is high-priced "real estate" only occupied by things worth her time. "You're just not important enough."

♣ Don't say it... - She doesn't like to be told 'no' or that she 'can't'. Alysse is not good with limits, if you must place a boundary on her you better have a valid reason for it. Even then, she often questions and vetoes what might otherwise be considered 'valid'.

♣ Mirror, mirror - Alysse is somewhat vain and possessive of her things. Growing up as an only child did nothing for her social skills. Alysse is pretty, intelligent, witty... and if you say otherwise be prepared to remove shrapnel from your face.

♣ I did not! - Sharing too much of her mind with machines over a prolonged period of time makes her volatile and unstable causing short term memory loss. This is not a deterrent for Alysse, and she will continue to use her powers at that dangerous level. Extreme caution should be taken when interrupting her 'work'.

♣ Really? Says who? - Alysse is amoral, though she has learned to hide it well. Her thought process lies outside the sphere to which moral judgments apply. She has no sense of right or wrong and believes only in the limitations of the possible. Is it possible to remove a child's brain and keep it in a jar to use as a wet-ware processor? Yes. Is that wrong? Define 'wrong'.

Extra:
Alysse has a fondness for blue flowers and has an attachment to fine coffee that rivals the Hatter's tea addiction. She's a decent cook but loves hot peppers so much the food often ends up being inedible to all except her.
