Synopsis
The Mad Hatter

Description
The age of the Mad Hatter is nothing of mystery and he would be very happy to tell you that he is 712 years old. However, to someone from the other side of the Looking Glass, he appears to be mid-20s.

Teagan stands at 6’3” and has a lean build. He doesn’t have a lot of muscle mass and he is completely satisfied with that as his current boy type allows him to be more limber and agile. His hair is a blood red colour and when it’s not tied back into a ponytail, it stops in the center of his back. As for his eyes, they are a pleasant hazel that is often mistaken for gold when in the sunlight. He also has a nearly flawless, creamy complexion due to the amount of care he gives it.

In terms of his attire, Teagan’s style is pretty straightforward. As his title gives away, he is almost always wearing a hat; top hats being his only preference. He mostly wears casual suits, all of which have matching vests to them. He’s rarely seen in anything different unless he’s just waking and still in his pajamas or if he is attending an event. In the case of the latter, he would wear an elegant tuxedo complete with shined cuff links, gloves, and a cane.

He also has pierced ears – three in each ear - and only wears small, 1kt diamond studs.

Personality
Saying that Teagan has a silver tongue is considered an understatement. He is able to calmly convince someone to side with his views before they could think twice about their own opinion. He’s extremely cunning and is very proud of that fact. What makes all of this possible for him is his gentlemanly charm. He bows courteously when introducing himself and he rarely utters a swear. He is also a very neat and punctual person. He prides himself on making it to all appointments on time, if not earlier than the stated time. If someone is even a minute late, he will become extremely annoyed with them, but he will not show it - a regal gentleman like himself must stay composed at all times.

To those who may be just meeting him, he can appear to be a bit of a dramatic idiot. This, however, is just an act until he has had enough time to properly read a person. Depending on how he views them, he will either continue the ruse, keeping the person in the dark about his "true" personality or he'll be a bit more like himself. Sometimes, he'll retain the idiot personality just for laughs. Teagan also has a habit of, not lying, but not telling someone the entire truth if hiding it will benefit him.

One bad trait of his that stands out most is his vanity. He cares a great deal about his appearance and will not hesitate to leave a place in favour of grooming himself. On that same note, he is extremely shallow when choosing a possible lover. Beauty is one of his greatest vices and it can sometimes lead to compromising situations. Don't let the last statement give the wrong impression, Teagan does exercise his common sense and will never do anything to compromise the operations of TOP HAT-acronym pending.

Some may wonder just what it is about Teagan that makes him the “Mad” Hatter. Try badmouthing tea or crash one of his tea gatherings and the madness will begin to surface. But really, don’t.

Equipment / Abilities
Teagan's first ability is formally called "Dimensional Summoning", but others may refer to it as "Hammerspace". This means that he is able to reach into something such as his hat, coat pockets, etc. and pull out an item that would not normally fit into such a place. However there are two restrictions with this: the larger the item he needs to summon, the larger the opening. Also, he needs to know exactly what something looks like in order to summon it.

His second ability is one practiced in his home country in the Club-Works Federation. This ability is called Psychokinetic Metalworking. This ability allows him to bend and shape metals to his whim. At least, it would if he would have studied Metallurgy more. With this power, the more knowledgeable the user is with Metallurgy, the better their Psychokinetic Metalworking is. In Teagan’s case, he knows only the basics of Metallurgy and as a result, he’s limited to simple bends and shapes.

As far as weapons, he has a two-in-one deal. He has a cane that he keeps stored in the dimension of his left breast pocket. This object has its own dimension hidden within it. From this, he can summon a stunning silver rapier that he uses to defend himself from a physical attack. He is incredibly skilled with using the weapon and often shocks those who witness his ability. From the same cane, he is also able to summon a sturdy bow and his hat act as his quiver. Being much more experienced with this weapon, Teagan can perform various stunts and maneuvers that could give even the best movie sequence a run for its money.

An unwavering charm is the beginning of Teagan’s strengths. He is also very organized when planning… well, anything really. He’s meticulous on details and does whatever he can to make sure that his plans go through well. As stated before, he is very agile so this allows him to move in ways that others cannot. While agility is still common amongst Wonderlanders, it is still considered a strength when dealing with the heavier creatures. In addition to this, he is trained to handle a sword as well as a bow and arrow. His sword skill is mostly for defense whereas his archery is used as a surprise offensive attack.

Even for a man like Teagan, he still has his faults and weaknesses, his vanity being one of them. No matter how much of a slave driver he is when it comes to keeping his plans together, if he is so much as scratched on his face, he will fret and complain about it. Going hand-in-hand with his vanity, his love of beauty can become a weakness. He has once fallen for an enemy because of her beauty and, obviously, it got him into some trouble. Teagan has learned to control this, but it has not stopped completely.

History
Teagan was born to a moderately influential family that resided in Club-Works Federation. His mother was from a lower class family who had married her off to the son of an inventor of moderate wealth. Despite their marriage being arranged, the two did care for each other and together had three children. The last child to be conceived was Teagan. Because he was “just the third child”, he wasn’t given the same love and affection as his older twin siblings, practically leaving him to be raised by the lower servants. Even though they were good to him, he still craved the love of his biological parents, only to be brushed aside.

While Donovan and Cara were primped and pampered to lead the family, Teagan’s needs were tended to last, if at all. Although all three were educated the same, his brother and sister’s bad grades were overlooked while he was severely chewed out and told he was a disgrace. Since all of the pressure to carry on the family’s name fell to his brother and sister, the young Hatter was often left to his own devices. In his time alone, he studied and practiced etiquette as well as archery and even fencing, all of which he did exceptionally well in. He figured that as long as he was stuck in the family, he may as well learn not to embarrass them by being a gentleman and knowing how to defend himself. His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, but he was only praised by the servants who raised him.

Once he came of age and was able to leave his parent’s home, he moved out. Though he remained in the Federation, he severed most of the ties to his family, only leaving his last name as a thin link between them. Since he left, he did not care to contact his parents or siblings. For a few centuries, he lived a peaceful life, having a steady job as a secretary at a small time manufacturer of machine parts. Each day, he began his morning with a small breakfast accompanied by tea. During his lunch break at work, he would enjoy another small meal, with tea. Once he was home for the night, he had his dinner and spent the rest of the evening unwinding with, yes, tea! On weekends, he would host a small tea gathering at the same time in the afternoon. Often, he would invite a young lady to join him, who was most likely his current lover.

The lovers he had in his life were numerous because of the circumstance of the break up. Donovan and Cara were doing a splendid job leading the Loxley Company and most assumed that Teagan was still associated with them. This led to women taking an interest in him for the same reason his mother had married his father. Once these women found out that he had cut his ties to his family and was no longer entitled to anything of theirs, they either left him immediately or they pretended not to care until they found someone more suited to their goals. Even though his pride doesn’t want to admit it, he was quite heartbroken from a couple of those relationships. However, he tried not to dwell on it and moved on with his life, carrying out his daily obligations as he always had. That is, until the war between the kingdoms started.

It didn’t take him long to pack up and leave the Federation after knights from the Heartland invaded. Still keeping a portal to his old place, Teagan made a new home for himself in an abandoned house in Central Forest that he soon expanded with the help of a few Wonderlanders who resided somewhat nearby. As he lived his life in the Forest, he kept up-to-date with what was happening on all the warfronts. More and more, he grew disgusted with the amount of damage it was doing to the Wonderland he loved so much. What was worse was that no one was one hundred percent clear on who started this war and what their motive was for it. It was then he began to plan his organization of TOP HAT-acronym pending.

Slowly and as secretively as he could, Hatter began to spread the word of his group and their goal to appeal to all kingdoms to end their pointless war. As expected, the thought of peace and restoring Wonderland to its former tranquility appealed greatly many and soon, he had many supporters from all four kingdoms, some of which even left their respective kingdom in favor of living near on in the organization’s headquarters. For about a century and a half, this war resistance group has gained a number of supporters and recruits who all pitch in to plan events and spread the interests of the group. So far, they haven’t changed any minds of the governments, but the message is slowly spreading through the citizens of the kingdoms.

Despite the group’s focus being the restoration of their magnificent land to is former peace, there is another motive in the works. Hatter would rather take all of Wonderland for himself as he feels he is able to control the kingdoms better alone that all four rulers combined. This motive is kept as a secret that only two others besides Hatter know: Koli Williams, the Jabberwocky and his own assistant, Lisette Blanche, the White Rabbit.

However, in order to achieve this goal, he is in need of a key: Alice. Since the original Alice is long gone, he has to find a substitute. By finding the Looking Glass, he was able to scout out four people from the Other World to come into Wonderland. These four each had a hidden potential in them that would deem them the most suitable to help him reach his overall goal. By sending out a creature from the Spade Empire, he was able to mark each of the Other Worlders with their respective suit while he prepared for their arrival.

When each of their Rabbit Holes brought them to Wonderland, he will be nowhere to be found. Instead, a representative will be here in his place to bring each of them to TOP HAT-acronym pending’s HQ where they will finally meet the Mad Hatter.

Extra
First and foremost, Hatter loves tea.  There is nothing better than enjoying a nice cup of tea to him.  He even has three daily scheduled times for having tea and on the first day of the weekend, he hosts a tea gathering.  His favourite flavours come from both the Heartland and the Spade Empire; for the latter, he even dresses in the traditional attire ( with a top hat ) and serves complimentary food with each tea flavour. Teagan also enjoys many mediums of art including music – his favourite instruments being the harp, piano, and violin – and paintings.  He also has a few preferences in fragrances that women wear as long as they don’t marinade themselves in it.  These include: vanilla, lavender, strawberry, mango, and pomegranate.

As for dislikes, Teagan get extremely annoyed with tardiness.  It is something he always seeks to avoid by leaving earlier to include a variety of factors that could make him arrive late.  He also detests pointless wars, which is why he seeks to end it and he will do all in his power to make sure HIS Wonderland will have no war without a cause.

Teagan doesn’t have too many hobbies except the ones that keep his skills sharp, which are archery and fencing.  Though, he does like to collect tea and even has an entire cellar devoted to storing them.  He is even in the process of trying to develop his own flavour which he will call “Wonderland”.
