History

As a kid, I had a very normal life. Normal parents with normal jobs, and normal friends at a normal school. It was always going to be that way, right? Wrong.

It happened four years ago, when I was thirteen. I was walking home from school one very rainy day. I took a shortcut down a dark alley. I thought I heard a noise behind me, so I turned around. There was nothing there. When I turned back around, there was a man standing in front of me. He was wearing a long, black coat.

"You shouldn't be out right now." he said.

"Well why not?" I asked, hiding my fear.

The man chuckled, showing sparkling white fangs. "It's dangerous. You could run into someone bad...and hungry."

Then, he lunged at me. I screamed. And then, everything was black.

When I woke up, I was home, in my bed. I felt hungry, very hungry. Soon, my mom came in.

"Hello honey." she said.

"Hi." I smiled.

My mom screamed. She yelled for my dad. My dad soon came, and asked what was wrong. My mom mumbled a bunch of stuff. I only made out one word; "vampire."

"Get out!" my dad screamed. "If you don't leave now, we will have to kill you."

My mom was crying and my dad was shaking. I understood. They would be forced to kill me if I didn't go. I grabbed my backpack, my wallet, my favorite hoodie, and a flashlight. Then, I left. I hoped out the window and ran off. That was the last time I saw them.

I spent the next three years moving around from town to town. I would do whatever jobs I could, and then would hide in the forest. That’s how I came across Teelu.

I've been living in Teelu for about a year now, watching others come and go, everyone different, but the same.
