Synopsis
"Hey! That's shiny! Can I touch it? Oooh... maybe I shouldn't nevermind..."

Description
Jareen has long black hair that is never down in front of people. The only time it is down is when she's in bed, with her current partner or practicing an instrument. When it is not any of those circumstances, it is tied up in countless ways. A loose bun, various ponytails, a braid, many braids. It changes every day, and she'll almost never wear the same hairstyle in the same week.

Her eyes are a dark blue, but because she wears contacts, they're lighter. She rarely wears makeup, but when she does, it only makes her eyes look even brighter, making her a spectacle at whatever show she may preform in. Her lips are never painted a different color than her natural color, but she uses the occasional swipe of chapstick so as to keep her lips from cracking.

Jareen has the body of a teenager, really. Thin and slender, almost like a ballerina. She's very fit in her arms and legs, and she does exercises for her abdomen as well, so she doesn't get overweight. Her arms are fit because she can hold up a flute, a clarinet and a violin for a few hours without tiring. She's five feet and eight inches tall and weighs one hundred and twenty pounds.

Personality
Jareen is known as Jake for a reason. When she was younger, she was very much a tomboy. She didn't like girly things or cared about who liked who, or what anyone was going to wear to the next dance. She only cared about mud, what was in the mud, and if her mother would be upset if she came home with mud on her jeans. She doesn't play in the mud anymore, but misses her childhood.

She's very playful, and very seemingly innocent- but don't let it fool you. Jareen is not innocent at all, in fact, she the farthest thing for innocent. She is one of those girls who act all sweet and caring but on the inside and away from prying eyes, is very very coy and mean. Especially to those whom she is not in favor in, she is a terrible person. The only people who know about this are the people she is mean to, her best friend and whatever lover she may have at the time.

She can hold a grudge for a very long time. You do one bad thing to her, and she'll be angry at you for almost the rest of your life. She also has a bit of a temper, and the fact that she was a tomboy in a group of rowdy boys who loved to fight will not help her opponent's case. She can fight very well, and her favorite way of getting back at people is through her fist.

At times, when she's right in between kind and a bit annoyed, she is very sarcastic to anyone she speaks to- and literally anyone. Be it the principal of the school she's in, the conductor, the lead singer or just a random person on the street.

Jareen has this strange insatiable need to have someone to cling to. It doesn't matter if its a man or a woman, the person she clings to is a tool in her life that she forgets about by the time she gets to another. She uses them for their skills and then leaves them to find someone else who can do it better. Its a terrible habit of her's that she cannot get rid of- and it gives her a bit of a reputation, but she ignores it.

She has a bit of ADHD, and cannot focus on one thing unless she takes her medication- and she hates taking her medication. So she's a bit hyper at most times, unless she drinks coffee, she mostly has a can, cup, or mug of coffee near her at all times.

Equipment / Abilities
Jareen can play a varity of instruments- the violin, clarinet, flute, cello, piano and guitar. She is currently a bit famous at many music conservatoires and is licensed to teach all of the instruments. She is currently learning how to play the drums,  but its a bit of a challenge, seeing as how she doesn't have a drum set with her.

She plays with her school orchastra and a few of the local ones as well, but is mostly a soloist.  She combines her singing ability with her instrumental sometimes, but she doesn't sing very often.

She can't cook for crap. Don't let her in the kitchen.

History
Jareen was born to family that was very dysfunctional. Her mother was mentally insane, so her father called for a divorce and then started to live with him. She never saw her mother after that, so she never had any feelings for the woman. Her dad was a nice man, who had a stable job and a need to have music in his ear. When he was bored and the girl was still sitting in her bouncy-thing, he would give her a maraca and he would play the guitar to whatever she could shake out.

As she grew older, they grew closer. He raised her to know that she could do whatever she wanted to, even if she wanted to play in the mud. He was glad that she had many friends, but was a bit worried that she would get to be too close to guys way too soon. Sadly, his concern was true, and she did get VERY close to boys very soon. And a couple girls, but that was only because of the male influence on her.

She was able to play the guitar and the piano by now, so music came easy for her afterwards.

In middle school, she underwent a huge change. She went from the tomboy-ish to a serious student. Her father wanted her to work harder and after a few months of nagging, she sought the change. She made herself learn how to play a multitude of instruments. In the process, she over stressed herself, leaving her quite a bit anti-social. She didn't like talking to people, but guys still came up to her, messing with her, or trying to hook up with her. Most of the time, she ignored them, but when a young man came by and caught her attention- she was captivated.

They did things that the usual middle school didn't do, but they did it without anyone knowing. She grew tired of it and tossed him to the side, but rumors start amungst the boys and another captures her attention. No one really said anything about it, and no one else but her and some other guys knew about her... outings. She only did it when absolutely necessary, seeing as how she really only used the boys as stress-relief.

When high school came around, she had continued this little habit, but it lasted a bit longer than it usually did, seeing as how she studied more and had less time for learning more about the male (or female, she discovered she didn't mind either) anatomy and various places where it could be fit. She learned more about music and began to become obsessed with it. She loved it so much that her habit stopped.

Near the end of her Sophomore year, her father picked her up from her little comfort zone of a town and then dropped her off in a new place. This new place was New Heather River.
