Personality
Eccentric, maybe the best word available to describe Catherine. Her love for the paranormal overshadows everything else in her life, not that good grades or a high social standing were anything that ever concerned her in the first place. She exhibits little to no fear of the unknown and the thought of discovery does nothing but excite her.

Most of the time, Catherine won't make an unnecessary social action or warm gesture. Some may believe she is detached from the real world, making it difficult for those who want to connect with her. But most of the time she becomes very apprehensive to any interactions outside of "business", believing that most people are messing with her and mocking her. Aside from that she has a very bad habit of accusing others of being possessed, even when no evidence has even been shown.

History
Born in America, her mother was a cocktail waitress in New York and her father was a writer from Japan who specialized in world exploration and travel. They met by chance, but because of that slim chance Catherine was brought into this world.

Due to her fathers job keeping him from standing still for too long, Catherine lived contently with her mother in New York for the majority of her life. Childhood was nothing extravagant; a medium sized apartment, a purple beta fish named Penelope and cable television.

Despite being an oddball her whole life, it was when she was thirteen that she became enthralled by the subject of "ghost hunting". In America, supernatural themed television took off that year... leaving Catherine to suck up all the wonders her mind desired. Without a moment of skepticism she checked out every book she could on the topic, joined countless online forums and wrapped herself in theories of the supernatural.

If you were to ask her how displeased she was when informed of moving day she would have given you a mere scowl. Not only was moving before high school a dreaded fate for most fifteen year old's, she was moving to a different country entirely. But the idea of her father getting paid more and being away less smoothed over any creases during the move.
