Personality

David "Vince" Evans despises half of the world's population. As a matter of fact, half of the world itself could fuck off, starting with his name "David". David Bowie, David Coverdale... Fucking David Copperfield. There ain't enough soil for so many David's. He'd much rather be called Vincent. Or better yet, Vince. Just Vince, not "Vince Vintage", "Vince Victory", "Vince Vagina", "Vince Van Gogh", "Vince Van Gay" or any other of the many variations the boys came up with. Vince will make fun of one's face all right, like any other dude, but the man can't take a goddamn joke himself. He's got a problem with drugs - Although drugs ain't got no problem with him. Alcohol, LSD, marijuana and eventual cocaine are part of his every day life and he doesn't care if people say it's gonna kill him. It better do before he becomes the next big shit in Punk Music.

Equipment / Abilities
1970 Gibson Les Paul Professional Electric Guitar

History

Vince grew up in Houston, Texas, with his good old mom and dad. He had two younger sisters and three dogs who happened to be his siblings more so than the girls. He has always been the spoiled brat - It took him just a few jumps and some minutes of yelling and crying to get whatever he wanted. Being the firstborn and the only man in a very conservative family of farmer and housewife, anyone could expect him to be spoiled. He was supposed to be raised to take after the business, after all.

At the young age of twelve Vince, who strayed from home much more than the kids his age did, met Andy, Pete and Phill, who could rock on like the goddamn Beatles themselves. They didn't let the boy in their little club just yet, but thereafter rock and roll was all Vince's mind could think of. Granted, after breaking half of the kitchen ware and threatening to put fire to one of the family dogs, he got himself his first guitar. From there on, he was locked up in the room, being yelled at for the noise. Vince's grades at school went downhill and his relationship with his family, which was on itself already complicated, started falling apart. There was no living soul who could take Vincent to the church on Sunday morning, for he had freed himself of all beliefs and completely lacked interest. As years went by, it was crystal clear that Vince could care less about his father's business, his mother's constant praying for his soul or his sisters' discomfort with his destructive presence.

As he grew up and started going out with other few kids in the scene, life for him became even more destructive. He wanted to be wild out, and he was only fourteen when he first got wasted. Sex, too, just happened naturally - His first relationship was with a girl at fifteen and not a month later, he laid with a boy, his friend Adam. At sixteen their  favorite playtime was to beat the fuck out of older guys - Viciously religious guys coming from church were the ones who usually got it. Vince skipped classes to play the guitar, spent his nights awake to prank people and returned home at the rising of the sun. He slept less than a normal kid would and drank more than a normal man could. The difference between him and Adam was that the other boy was actually going to school and pretending to be just a normal person most of the time, while Vince was wild all over. He had only one face, crazy and fag. The only thing that made him immune to bullying and beating was the fact everyone knew he knew the craziest people in town. His sisxteen year old friends knew trying to get to him would grant them a visit from older punk dudes like Andy, Pete and Phill.

When Creedence Clearwater Revival made it's name known, Vince was already pretty good on playing the guitars and Andy and Phill were more than willing to let him into the club. Their little band Standard Fools counted with the three of them and Jason Madman, who came around not a year after Vince. They played in a few shitty pubs and Andy's studio, but that was it. They never had what one would call an audience. Ninety percent of the population in Houston thought Rock was the Devil's music - And if you were to add up the drugs, the craziness, the sexual exploration, then sure as fuck everyone thought they were the Devils themselves. Some people called them Beatniks, some called them punks, but none of them approved of their lifestyle.

At the age of eighteen Vince was harshly kicked out from his home after being found having sex with Jason Madman in the backyards. That was the last straw for his dad. Sometime in that year, too, Andy started talking on the phone with a guy from New York...  A guy who saw Lou Reed and Iggy Pop play live all the time in the city. Andy wanted in and he figured all they needed was a decent amount of money to get there. He traded his old ford for a trailer while Vince, who had left school for good, was earning minimum wage at a pub and saving up to the very last cent. When time came to leave for good, Jason Madman had been hospitalized by his family and Phill backed out. It was Andy, Vince and the road ahead.

Extra
  • Vince was self-educated into playing the guitar, the electric guitar and the bass guitar. He did a pretty darn good job on it also;
  • Standard Fools lyrics were mostly about Texas's oil business, the environmental damage and capitalism;
  • Vince has no preference for men or women - He has a preference for frequent sex, though;
