Aristine James Barker (Aris)

Aris is twenty-two years old, and looks the part. He has a tall and muscular frame, standing at six feet and two inches (6'2"). He has chin-length midnight-black hair and chocolate brown eyes, which both stand out pleasantly against his cream-colored skin.

Naturally quiet, Aris prefers to keep to himself, though he doesn't mind a small group or company. He is rather sweet once he warms up to a person, and will stay loyal to them for as long as needed. He is always willing to lend an ear, though if an emotion is too overwhelming for him, he may leave to cool off and stay distant for a short while. He will always come back to the person in a matter of time, however.

He usually has his head stuck in a book, for research purposes as to his ability.

As an empath, Aris is able to read one's soul for their true feelings, and a glimpse of the thoughts that are attached to these feelings. He is able to calm a room or excite it at will, though he prefers to deal with one person at a time.

He may be able to get a better connection on the person's feelings if he has a physical connection; placing his palm(s) on one of the body chakras (crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacrum, or root) is most effective.

Aris came from a small, unusual town in the middle of nowhere. It was not uncommon for children to run around without a mother or father, usually the latter, like he. There were many unusual laws and habits that his people kept, and these things come out in his daily life or when he is deep in thought. His mother claimed that he had gotten his ability from his father, who the people of his town called a "soul-reader." It is here where his research began.
