Enjoys inflicting emotional and physical pain onto people both for harm and for pleasure

Manipulative

He is a master manipulator, there’s very little he’s able to get away with once he knows what he wants

Resentful

He never forgives, never forgets. He doesn’t believe in second chances. He’s still bitter over basically being rejected by Sariel

Even before the war and his descent to hell, he was  considered an outcast among the angels. He was strange and manipulative which caused them to be untrusting of him. But one angel treated him differently, Sariel. He quickly fell in love with her after they spent a lot of their time together. He thought she had felt the same way, despite him never fully admitting his feelings, only to find out that she was falling for someone else. Sandalphon. He became resentful and went out of his way to cause harm to Sandalphon by attacking his weakness. He started pursuing Ariel, who was almost identical to Sariel in every way, which made it easier for Zaiah to go through with it. 

And then the unthinkable happened. There came a day when the angels had to choose sides, their Father’s, or Lucifer’s. Zaiah was undecided, but Sariel refused to fight, and was cast out of heaven by none other than Sandalphon. He had thought at the time Sandalphon did it purely as payback for trying to separate him and Ariel. All he saw was red, thinking he had killed the only person he’d ever loved. So of course when Lucifer approached him personally, he immediately sided with him, after all he was the only other angel besides Sariel that treated him with respect. 

During the wall, he leaped for the chance to kill the ones he felt had wronged him. He got his hands on and ripped apart many of his brothers and sisters, without a second thought. And then he got his sights on a particularly pure sight, he had heard of her but not met her personally, but he had made up his mind that she was probably just like the rest. Lailah was her name, and with a few other demons they cornered her. It was thrilling to be the one to rip the wings straight from her body. He didn’t think twice when she screamed in agony and fell from the sky, much like the sight he saw with Sariel. There was a moment of regret, but he pushed it down. Everything good inside of him died when Sariel did, and he wouldn’t stop killing until he was satisfied. 

Centuries passed and he gained a reputation even among the demons, as someone who should be avoided. He then later found out that Lucifer didn’t accept Sariel into hell, which had to have been the reason she went up in flames. He came to resent Lucifer as well, after finding out the truth. With no alignments and no allies, he figured there wouldn’t be harm in answering the call after being requested to join this peculiar experiment.
