Synopsis
Elena's parents just died in a car crash that she blames herself for. She's not herself anymore, and she's pushed her friends away. Little does she know, she's the doppelganger of a vampire who's the source of what her life is about to become.


Description
((While this character is greatly based off of The Vampire Diaries' Elena Gilbert, and while I'd like to put her into a story very similar to The Vampire Diaries story, she is not limited to that story. No prior knowledge of VD novels or shows is required!))





Hair: Dark brown, looking almost black in low lighting, to her mid-lower back.

Eyes: Warm brown with long thick eyelashes.

Height: 5'5"

Body: Slender but curvy; evenly proportioned. Long legs, delicate skin and features. Naturally tanned skin.

Sexual orientation: Vampiresexual. Sorry that wasn't an orientation, I mean heterosexual.

Birthday: July 5th; 18 years old

Location: Mystic Falls, Virginia

Family: Parents; deceased. One younger brother, Jeremy Gilbert. 


Personality
Once the most popular cheerleader in school, Elena was selfish, snobby and love-hated by all. She could have any boy she wanted, and was known to win everything she put her mind to. Recently, all of that has changed. Her selfish ways caused her parents to die, and now she's different. She doesn't talk to her best friends anymore, she's dropped out of cheerleading, and she's in a sort of, limbo, that has taken away much of her go-getter-I'm-better-than-all attitude. There's a lingering sadness and hatred for herself that looms over her constantly.

Elena becomes more compassionate, empathetic, caring and friendly through her transformation and meeting of Stefan Salvatore, the first boy to ever make her feel unsure, shy and self conscious.

History
Elena was born in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. She grew to be known as "The Golden Girl"; head cheerleader, head of her class, Queen of all dances, etc. Beautiful, popular and quite the b*tch thanks to it. Elena didn't care about anyone but herself. She used absolutely everyone to get what and where she wanted, and she was proud of it, too.

Last summer while at a party, Elena decided her long time boyfriend, Matt, just wasn't doing it for her anymore. She broke up with him, and called her parents, demanding she be picked up immediately. On the ride home, her father lost control of the car and they skidded off of Wickery Bridge into the river. Elena doesn't remember how or why she was the only one to survive, but she blames herself for the death of her parents; Grayson (who refused to be saved, pointing for the rescuer to save Elena instead) and Miranda Gilbert.

Jenna Sommers, Elena and Jeremy's aunt, took custody of them, moving to Mystic Falls and into their home as to not too greatly disturb the balance of what was left of their lives now.
