Synopsis
A mechanical construct originally commissioned for battle, Incunabula has since found a place as a librarian and document processor ... and is starting to contemplate what it means to be "human", as well.

Description
Incunabula as a soldier was built to be sturdy, tough, intimidating, and . Made of carefully-articulated machinery and plated over with metal armor, it stands about six feet tall. Since being decommissioned from military duties, though, Incunabula has elected to take on more of a feminine look; the library that adopted it for work reduced the plating in a few places, leaving the construct with a slightly more ladylike (if Amazonian) appearance. Its bronze-toned plating is draped with blue and silvery fabric clothing, including a hood to cover the construct's bare head. Incunabula's body language is clearly meant to resemble that of humans, however something about the way it moves remains somewhat uncanny. However, in the cool blue glow of its eyes, there is definite curiosity and intelligence.

Personality
As a construct-warrior, Incunabula was not meant to have a personality at all. All that it has developed has come as sort of a curiosity of the magic that drives it. And curious it is, observing whatever it can of interactions between humans, the books it keeps watch over, and everything in between. Incunabula has learned to respond to the nickname Ink, and has taken up an interest in books of poetry, but a fair amount of slang is lost on the mechanical librarian. It remains taciturn and a little shy, though, aware that it does not understand a fraction of what there is not know about humans.

Equipment / Abilities
Other than its armor and clothing, the only other item Incunabula carries regularly is its long-handled warhammer. It is imbued with runic power, possessing a set of wheels to change which runic symbols appear on the face of the hammer. Think like a librarian's date stamp, with wheels to set the date. Ink's runes allow it to channel some minor magic, however the librarian is hardly a wizard.

History
The basic gist as mentioned above is that Ink was built as a mechanical soldier, imbued with some magic to animate its metal body, but following whatever war it fought, Incunabula found new work in a library. Delving into the books available to it, the construct began to develop more of a personality of its own, and an awareness that it has a long way to go to even begin to be accepted as "human". It certainly possesses memories of the battles it has fought, but, truth be told, it is not really sure what it thinks of its past. Likely just as well - concerned primarily with its future, Incunabula seeks to better itself and move beyond its war days.

Extra
Incunabula was originally a character for Dungeons and Dragons, as a warforged runepriest, and follower of Ioun, but my group where I will be playing it is not really one for RPing, and I liked the character idea too much to just let it go. Since there is not terribly much established ICly, I'd be willing to adapt Ink to whatever setting you might want to invite a metal fantasy robot librarian into! I am pretty flexible.
