Synopsis
Michael Addie is his government name, but this radical conspiracy theorist prefers to go by the "code-name" Kink. He is a very likeable and fun person if you can get past the thick layer of paranoid anxiety and psychotic rambling.
Description
If I were to imagine Kink on stage at a Nirvana concert, I would not
picture him out-of-place. He has long, straight, black hair that seems
to fall in strands onto his face no matter how hard he tries to keep
them back. Even when he puts his hair into a ponytail, which he does
quite often in professional circumstance or hot weather, a couple of
raven-colored pieces of silky hair fall and shape around his long face.
His bangs in the very front are just short enough to stay out of reach
of the hairbands. The only way to keep those few hairs back with the
rest of his mid-back length locks is if he clips them down or puts a hat
on, which he doesn't like doing. Unfortunately, he does both of these
often since he works at a local down-home country-style B&B where he
serves food. His work outfit consists of a white button-up shirt, dark
army-green overalls, black shoes, a hairnet, and a dark army-green hat
that is just a simple curved-bill with the words, "B&B Y'all"
printed. His work clothes vary from his street apparel tremendously. He
can usually be seen wearing a casual band tee and jeans under a long,
faded trench coat. He wears it even on the hottest days and seems
unphased by the heat. The black doesn't make his some-what tan skin look
any paler, and all of the dark contrast in his hair, skin, and clothes
brings out his orange-brown eyes. His eyebrows are heavy, but somewhat
thin and rounded, but sharp. One can rarely see both of his eyes in
their entirety due to his bangs, and his ears are also covered by the
shag growing on his sculpted head. His jaw-line is sharp and bold, and
the rest of his facial features follow this suit as well. His eyes are
the only curved thing on his face, but they are beautiful and women
would die for his lashes. He is about 6 feet even and is thin, but
muscular and defined. In all, Kink would be a lady-magnet if not for
his... well... kinks. ( ^ ^; Sorry for the bad pun.)
Personality
Kink definitely lives up to his name-sake. He's a full-blown conspiracy
theorist, not just about his government, but about all the others too.
He is extremely paranoid, so he can be seen looking around in a very
habitual way most of the time. This paranoia makes him believe things
about the government that others take as off-the-wall nutty, but most of
the time he's actually right. Kink's biggest problem is the fact that
people take him as loon because his conspiracies are unorthodox and god
forbid someone go against the government. He enjoys saying that the
government is "a toy gun," meaning it only has the appearance of being
powerful. He gets the quote from the author Henry David Thoreau, who has
written many anti-society type books. He loves to read blogs, books,
forums, etc. about the government or new conspiracies and his favorite
television program is the news. He is a genius who has figured out how
the save the world, but he has also realized that most of the world
denies being saved. He sees the world for what it is: a rotting,
disgusting shell of a former potential utopia.
(In supernatural
roleplays his conspiracies change from government to supernatural
happenings, but they are just as prominent.)
Equipment / Abilities
Science Fiction: Kink is an on-his-own-time experimenter who
plays around with gene-splicing and trial-and-error tests to try and
improve Cannabis. You never see him outside of his home from 8 pm to 2
am, because that is his "time alone with his(my) love, Mary Jane." The
paranoid mad-scientist carries equipment to smoke marijuana with him
everywhere, yet he doesn't smoke cigarettes. He also has a pet ferret
that he brings with him everywhere named Spark. Spark has a Homo sapiens
Auditory Transmitter (HAT) that allows his brain waves to be
transferred into speech patterns through a tiny hat on his head. Kink
always has cool gadgets up his sleeve. No one really knows all of what
he keeps in the many pockets of that huge trench.
Supernatural:
The thing Kink treasures and uses the most is his "creature hunting
kit." It is a big, wheeled trunk that fits perfectly into a corner of
his van/apartment that contains everything from energy and heat
measuring devices to Bigfoot For Dummies. He can speak to spirits
and through this has been entered into the mysterious and unknown
"world within the world" filled with vampires, witches, demons, and more
creatures some never even imagined by humans. The man knows that not
everything he has read is true, but he is prepared for anything.
Modern:
Most of the time, one will find Kink going through his many pockets
for one of the many things he carries on him. Most anything you can
find on an essential house-hold list you'll find in his pockets
including a toothbrush and toothpaste, duct tape, and writing utensils
and paper. He keeps his soap, shampoo, and things of that sort in his
van/apartment.
Futuristic: This will be similar to modern,
but varied a bit depending on if this futuristic society is booming,
intelligent, and thriving, or dead, desolate, and uneducated.
All:
You will never see Kink without a white-gold pocket watch that has
been passed down through his family. In supernatural roleplays, this is
what gives him the powers and capabilities of a spiritual medium. The
clock's face is red with white hands, all of which are designed
differently. The hour hand is a small, squared, hourglass shape, whereas
the minute hand is a jagged line, and the second hand a straight line
with a hollow circle on the end. The outside has the surname "Addie"
engraved with a picture of a griffin underneath.
History
Kink's mother and father died at a young age, leaving his paternal
grandparents to care for him. He doesn't have much memory of his mother
and father, and he treated his grandparents as if they were his mother
and father, calling them momma and pops. When he was a young boy, the
only way he could spend time with his family was to watch the news with
them as that's all they ever did. As he grew older, he began to notice
that different news channels said different things. He began to take
notes, figure out how to use the internet to cross-reference, and became
the experienced conspirator he is now by age 17.
(In Supernatural, the news part doesn't apply. The watch was given to him when his parents passed and his mother and father came back from the other world and explained the watch's history and power to him. They pass at a later age in this senario.)
