Personality

Strengths:

Loyalty and Love

Weakness:

Trust. Hard to earn, easy to lose. Near impossible to get back.

Nimbus, or 'Nim', is loyal and fierce, but she has an opinionated attitude. Nimbus would fight to the death for a friend. But an enemy is pretty much doomed. (think River Song from Dr. Who) Nimbus can be caring, and supportive. Although I say this, these traits are known to the few who have proven to be close friends. She had learned not to trust too easily. She is cordial to strangers, but stays at an emotional distance until she gets to know you better. Not everyone is good.

Equipment / Abilities
Through most of her history she has had only her claws, beak, and awesome flying skills to aid her in combat. One good friend from the City of Ebony made battle claws for her, to help kill the enemy warriors easier. As well as give her an awesome looking helmet. Like this...

Besides the natural abilities a Golden Eagle has such as using their agility and speed combined with extremely powerful talons to snatch up a variety of prey, including grey wolves, goats, and deer, Nimbus was born with a talent like others had.

Talent/Price:
Endurance: To withstand more than the common humanoid. For an example, when one is normally unable to go on, Nimbus's Talent allows her to go through with the task at hand.
Price: Hacking cough. When her Talent comes into play, she begins having problems breathing. It progresses into a intrusive cough, which may sometimes cause headaches. She is punished, in this way, when she uses her Talent. Even if she is using her Talent for the good.

Feather Weight: This is a Talent that, when implicated, gives Nimbus the supernatural ability to carry with ease anything she can grip. This doesn't include object/creatures that are the size of deer or wolves. Since they are naturally her prey. It applies to anything bigger than those two things. Of course, it does not mean she can carry away houses or tanks. The limit to her Talent are things as big as two men. Anything more, and her Price would be too unbearable, even accompanied with her first Talent and the Seed.
Price: Burning sensations. It can be as little as her body feeling over heated, to full blown engulfment of fire. It's not that she is lit on fire, it's that her brain registers the Price as if it was set ablaze.

Misene's Seed:
Martyr's Touch. The ability to heal.

History

Rue and her husband Slate are two Golden Eagles of Copper City. The territory they claimed was about 30 miles or so, between a mountain range and a forest. Rue laid three seeds into the soil after a years work of letting them grow within her, careful to plant them just right. A weak later, all three emerged. Falon, Nimbus, and Clover. All daughters. But this happiness was cut short by a wild fire. Falon had been caught early on in the flames. Rue and Slate managed to grab the other two, but as they took off, a branch fell on Slate. It did not crush him, but he could not fly. And the fall broke Nimbus's foot. Rue tried to circle the area for him, but the smoke was too much. Beneath the raging forest, Slate used his Talent of Endurance to charge forward, since there was a gap between the forest and the mountains close by, despite the pain of his limp dangling wing. Nimbus was quite scared, and held tight to her father as he pushed through, dodging trees and burning shrubbery. Just as they broke through, Slate could not take the smoke, and the coughing of his price. The bit of air he got was not air at all. It was black smoke and ash. He collapsed, accepting his death. As he faded, seeing that Nimbus was too scared and could not run due to her foot, he decided to use what was left of his strength to give Endurance to Nimbus. So she would withstand the pain of her foot and hide somewhere safe. Rue would come back. She always comes back.

Having this Talent of Endurance passed from Slate to Nimbus, she implemented it and ran to safety. Up in the mountain, Rue had placed Clover in a crevice as she swooped around the blazing fire. A small limping animal caught her eye. It was Nimbus! Rue caught her up, asking where Slate had gone. Nimbus told her mother what had happened. Distraught, but focused, she flew on. Resolved to care for their daughters as Slate would have her do, Rue took Clover and Nimbus closer to populated areas. Where help could come easily if a fire ever broke out again.

As they grew, Nimbus and Clover had different ideas about how to live ones life. Clover was eager to start her own family. Nimbus was curious about the world. Rue knew Slate would have been proud to see them making their own choices about life. He would have equally supported both of them. (being especially happy for Nimbus, because he loved adventure.) Rue gave her blessings to both of them when their opportunities arrived. Clover married another Golden Eagle called Soleks. After her wedding, Nimbus bid them farewell, and set off for exploration.

As Fate would have it, Nimbus unexpectedly became a part time Mercenary. It kind of just fell into place. Saving a kid here, running into a conflict there. Nimbus really did it because she happened upon these situations, until she found that an abundance of wealth and food was to be had from it. Nimbus began seeking bounty hunting gigs or assisting someone on a little trip here and there. It started out well, making friends and all. One guy she saved from falling, during a trip through Ebony City, made her battle claws and a helmet. This made it MUCH easier to kill her targets. Ni,mbus was so easily trusting, until one great 'friend' betrayed her to an evil dark denizen, who practiced the art of reaping seeds from ones dead body.

Nimbus escaped, but the overwhelming sense of betrayal by a denizen she thought was a great friend had taken it's toll. Now a little darkness set in her heart. For a time she ignored people in need and only killed those who had a bounty on their heads. Until one day, when she took a visit to the Ivory City...Misene's Martyrs Touch may not have healed Nimbus's cold heart, it at least opened it up to the idea of trust.
