Synopsis
The oldest Bandit

Description

This big guy was built to last! Most of his body still has its original parts and thanks to his own diligence, its still working as proper as the day he was made. His body features a more advanced hydraulic system than most in the form of artificial muscle fibres, which grants him even more strength than his already considerable size suggests. Sticking out of his head is a powerful sensor array that, in his Slave days, allowed him to detect the most minor fault in an atmospheric tower's reactor. Now he uses it to detect weaknesses in the bodies of his foes, which has allowed him to take down fellas twice or more his size in the past. Asides from that, he is able to tell every other little detail of another Gileadean's body, which gives the unnerving impression that he can look into their souls. His hands are dexterous but obviously built for heavy work, and the rest of his body is likewise. Those armour plates are damn near impenetrable, and the scars they bear will tell that many have tried.

Personality
He's seen it all, he's done it all, and by heck is he an old soul. He's been hero, villain, victim and patsy throughout his long life as an Inheritor, but above all else, he's a Bandit and the oldest one too... well, the oldest one still ticking anyhow. Fearsomely notorious, and rightly so, he's still got the vigour of his youth, which he'll use to snap ya in two as easy as sticks if you give him enough cause for it. He used to be as hotheaded as any other young Bandit, but age has mellowed him into a quiet, dangerous cool sort of fella; the type who knows he's the toughest son of a maker on Gilead but doesn't have to prove it, because it's been proven many times over and over again. Other Bandits try to friend him or challenge him, and he doesn't mind it either way. In truth, he's quite unflappable these days, which is a far cry from the way he used to be that earned him the reputation as the most vicious and dangerous Bandit of all Bandits. Perhaps he just doesn't care about anything much anymore. Still, if you grant him a fight, he'll most certainly oblige, and maybe with some cheer. There's nothing sweeter to him than getting a chance to use a long-ago perfected skill, whether it be fighting, reprogramming, repair work or anything a Gileadean can do, good or bad.

Equipment / Abilities
His sensor array allows him to know every little physical detail of the Gileadean he's looking at. He doesn't need much in the way of weapons, because he's already capable of tearing his opponents apart with his bare hands, and his own body's strong enough to weather the blows.

History
As a Slave, Jonas's job was to detect and fix any problems with an atmospheric tower's reactor. All towers had a Slave like him, but he was among the first to inherit the souls of their makers and he's been in all kinds of troubles since. He started out as the favourite target of a gang of Bandits, on account of his uncommonly durable parts, but he always managed to get away somehow. One day he got tired of running and decided to stand up against them. He never had any fighting experience before then, so he tried to take them out one by one. That bungled up when he came to learn that the Bandits could signal each other, so he had to fight em all anyway... and won. Now, there were no heroes back then in those times and in a way, he became the first one by fighting back and proving that one could go against the odds. Few ever actually succeeded in that endeavour, but in time, more and more formidable Gileadeans inherited the souls of their makers and either became heroes or villains. Many died out in those early days, but Jonas kept on trucking and eventually settled to do repair work in some Haven somewhere. His work was hailed as top-notch quality, but one day, a friend got him into reprogramming Slaves, just for the interest of seeing what they could do. They dabbled in this for some time, which eventually became known to others and the practice spread from tower to tower. Some would go off adventuring to other towers still occupied by Slaves, and steal em away to work upon. Jonas and his friend did it a few times themselves until the day they accidentally reprogrammed a Slave just-turned-Inheritor. There was no telling if it'd ever inherit the soul of its maker ever again, and Jonas's friend ended his tinkering days right there and then, but as for Jonas himself, something dark in him was awoken. He started kidnapping folks in secret, to see what the difference was between an Inheritor and a Slave. One day he got found out and a whole lynch mob went fixing to see him turned into scraps, but he got away and so began his life as a Bandit. That however is a whole other story.
