About 5'4" with long, brown hair and hazel eyes. Makes little effort to be fashionable, often resorting to a tank top or T-shirt and simple jeans. She sometimes looks harsh and rude, though she doesn't mean to. She also tends to stare, which is unforntunate for others, because she also can have a scary glare, also when she doesn't mean to.

Generally shows no preference to being kind or unkind to anyone until she has them figured out. She has a mostly withdrawn personality, but can be very curious at times and deals with things using logic more than emotions. Maya does have a sweet side, but mostly only uses it to win her social points. Otherwise, she rarely shows it. She is afraid of nothing, but generally does not fight. She usually takes care not to provoke anyone. When a fight [verbal or physical] arises, she stays calm and does her best to show that she is not being cowardly, but is simply generally disinterested in fighting. She does, however, show a great deal of interest in the quarrels and calamities of others. She enjoys such shows greatly, unless it is dealing with something or someone she cares about.

Keen sensing abilities along with greatly enhanced natural senses. Mainly focuses on her physical sensing abilities rather than emotional or power sensing. Bad physical fighting skills, but excellent dodging skills.

Added abilities with sun ring -- Telepathic communication and liquid light. The liquid light comes out of her ring, and it is very bright. It is also very acidic. Maya uses it to form light minions, which burn the floor as they walk. The minions wreak unspeakable havoc on skin. However, their lifespan is only 5 minutes long. After that, they begin to melt away.

As a young child, she was picked on heavily by other girls in her schools. The school she went to was strictly religious, which Maya hated. She chose to move away from her parents and in with her grandmother at 14 years of age, intentionally making herself too hard to handle. Her grandmother paid little attention to her, leaving her to do as she pleased. In the forest, where she spent most of her days (she refused to go to school), she met a tall man who looked about 20. Confident that she could handle herself, she did not run away and they began to talk. He was handsome and charming, which made young Maya even less afraid. After a few months of talking almost every day, he started telling her about when he visited the lands of the dragons, and she was absolutely fascinated. They talked about it often. On her 15th birthday, he came and said he was no longer welcome, but as a symbol of their friendship, he gave her a dragon egg. I could never get it to hatch, he said, but maybe you could with your magic. That was the last she heard from the man, and, from then on, she focused on developing her magic. She never did learn to fight, but enrolled into Sorcerers as soon as she was of age. There, in it's great libraries, she found out how she could hatch the egg with no soul. She still hopes to see the man again someday.

She has a pet dragon, Ryuu. He's a real facemuncher. She completely controls him with her mind.
