Personality

She's outspoken and intelligent. 
Em loves reading. Like how teenagers nowadays find escape in music and are always found 24/7 wearing headphones ; her haven is in books. While people her age are gushing over Robert Pattinson and how sweet it was that Jacob imprinted on Renesme ; she begins what she thought as casual conversation by bringing up the fact that the concept was basically child grooming and pedophillic. Needless to say, she doesn't have many friends.
She doesn't mind really because those kind of conversations suffocate her. She prefers being alone than feel lonely among chattering crowds.
She's always found daydreaming or in some kind of trance. 
She's an escapist who creates worlds outside her own where she can actually breathe. Whenever something bad happens to her, she'd just close her eyes and return to her own world where she knows she's safe.
Some calls her snobbish and they may be right. She's prejudiced to people who depends on brawn instead of brains.

Equipment / Abilities
Clothing Style: She wears overlarge cloths and baggy jeans. People say when you wear big cloths, you'd look poor. Well, she was poor and it's not like she's hiding anything. 
General Clique: She's the Vice President of the student council. She wanted to apply to be the president but they had a sexist rule against that. Not that that's enough to stop her from trying. She's constantly challenging the president to prove she's better than him.
Hobbies: Reading and studying other language. 
Interests: Her favorite novels are of the antiheroes ; Phantom of The Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Wuthering Heights.


History
Em lived with her father and 5 older sisters ; Nicole, Aliénor, Marguerite, Michel and Hélisenne. Her mother, Caroline died when Em was 12 because of lung cancer. Caroline was a book enthusiast and had named Em after her favorite author, Emily Jane Brontë. Em's sisters were spoilt and arrogant. Em's father was a successful businessman and had showered their family with wealth and luxury. Her sisters would never leave the house without their proper attire of designer dresses and got basically whatever it was their hearts desired. Em was the only one who shared her mother's love for books. When she was young, she would sit in her mother's lap and listened as she recited to her the story of the French Revolution.

After her mother's death, her father fell into depression and lost his company to a trusted partner. Bankrupt, the family lived in poverty. Her sisters were practically useless so this was where Em had to step up to support her family. She worked part-time from dawn to midnight only to have her sisters waste her money on useless indulgence. Still, she never abandoned her family. One by one, her sister married off with some banker, actor or some other idiot who had fallen for their beauty, which left only her and her father. Her father treated Em kindly but once or twice when Em was seen with a boy or came back late because of a trip to the mall with her classmates; her father would go into a rampage, accusing her of abandoning him. That was the reason why Em would never hang out with a boy, or with anyone in particular-not that there was anyone dying to hang out with her anyway. Sure, if you asked anyone, they'd say she was a rare beauty, but her baggy cloths (What? It was easier to buy a baggy sweatshirt than some skimpy dress which cost a fortune you'd eventually outgrow after eating a bag of fries. It's a waste, people!) and her lack of humour tend to be a turn off for most people. 

Despite that, she was proposed by a son of her father's old acquintance. He was thick as a brick and only seemed to care that she was nice to the eyes. He was rich and popular but when she tried to talk to him about literature, he replied with, "I think it's hot when girls use fancy smchancy words" (See what I'm dealing with here?!). Em for sure was not planning to be a trophy wife. One day, Em received an offer letter from Velubian Academy. That was weird, she doesn't remember applying there. Hell, she'd never even heard of the place. But the letter was accompanied with a full scholarship and with her financial condition (Not to mention, an escape from Douchebag Jr.), she was not going to pass it up. After months of pleading to her father, he finally allowed her to go, only if she promised never to return until graduation. Although she was reluctant to leave him, she accepted the offer.
