You, and others, each have a key- but to what? Doors upon doors line hallways, but you can only use the key once and you must choose. Will it be correct? Or shall you face the fate of what lays inside?......
This is a role play that will have a total of five players, each only with one character. Each character shall have a key tattooed on their hand- anywhere on said hand- and it will open a lock of their choosing within an endless hall of various locks- doors, chests, safes, lockers, boxes, diaries, ect. However, there is a perfect matching lock to the key they have and what lays behind it is the one thing they have always wanted.
But if you open the wrong door, that fate belongs to you and you release the monster inside (Not to say that monsters are usually inside). And those without a key become vulnerable to whatever monster's wrath.
There have been those before you, but none have found their lock, and they and their monsters still linger.
Rules
1. Obey WTFRPG TOS
2. This is a general rated roleplay, so there will be no sexual content
3. Try to post every once in a while, however, if you're gone for more than a week and a response from you is needed, I will control you character to remove them temporarily from the situation so that you may resume when you can. If you're gone for a long time, please give notice if you can.
4. If you want to leave, do so. But, I'm afraid you can't come back once you do so. Your position will be opened for someone else to take.
5. I do not mean much by the intermediate level, but remember: quality over quantity. Don't write a crap-ton of fluff we don't need to rack up your word count if you don't need it. Try to keep good grammar and what-not, but if you mess up every once in a while, it is all fine.
Background
The Hallway:
A long extended storage room for locked objects and doors that never ceases to end. Each human that has existed, is existing or will exist on Earth has something they can unlock if they end up in The Hallway, if that gives you a clue as to the number of things that could be unlocked. It is well-lit by what seems to be electricity (one can never be so sure in a situation like this) in some areas, and by candles and torches in others, and you're about to fit about seven people going across. However, the fitting of people only really seems to work if you can find some empty way across The Hallway without tripping over something.
At the very front of The Hallway, where you suddenly appear, there is a room that is already open without a lock on it. Above it is a sign that seems relatively old and made out of carved wood that says. "Living Quarters." Cots, food, and anything you may need is there. It is also one of the only safe spaces you honestly have. You and the four other human beings can enter, but nothing else can. And you can stay for as long as you want, but you can't leave The Hallway without unlocking your right lock...
And it seems like no one has left The Hallway... Will you be the first?

The Keys:
Tattooed somewhere on your hand may be the key to your freedom, or the key to your doom. It appeared there when you gained consciousness in The Hallway. Though it may not be well-known, your key does give you a hint as to what it goes to. The shape of it reflects your dreams, and what you want the most. However, I am afraid to tell you that you are very likely to not ever know this fact.
Those who possess a key will have immunity to the monsters that were released by the Before, and to the Before themselves. They cannot harm you, and will not notice your presence. If you use your key on the wrong lock, you will be vulnerable to the Before and their monsters.

The Locks:
Anything that could possibly have a lock is in here. Boxes, doors, cars, music boxes, safes, windows that lead into other rooms, vending machines, or even just a plain lock. You can use your key on anything in here, but what is contained inside is a dream. The dream will first try to manifest itself in you, and if it is not yours, it leaves and gains its own form. If it is your dream, you get a wish, and nothing is impossible with this wish.

The Monsters:
These are the physical forms of dreams that have been rejected by those Before. They become more and more dangerous and twisted as time goes on, as they loose fragments as they wander The Hallway. The monsters do have personalities, and take on the shape of the subject of the dream. If it is a person, they have a human body when they are first turned into Monsters. They look harmless, and they are generally harmless until they start loosing fragments. If it is an animal, a similar thing happens. As any monster starts to loose fragments, they become less and less what of what they were until they before large shadow-blobs with a glowing center. This glowing center is the last fragment that the monster will continue to keep.
But here's the funny thing. If your locked has already been unlocked and a monster released by the Before, you can still somehow get your wish... However, it is only if you can get that last fragment.

The Before:
There are exactly forty-six Before in The Hallway. These are the people who have come before you, hence the name. They are the living ghosts of those who were attacked by the Monsters. Children, mothers, fathers, men, women, anyone- They could be anyone. But no one you have ever known. They are the ones who opened the wrong locks and have faced the consequences of stealing another's dream. They are the ones who have unleashed the forty-five monsters in The Hallway.
But there is one Before that is a bit different. He never unlocked the wrong, nor the right lock, never had he used his key. He simply out-lived his twelve year old body in searching and he was the first in The Hallway. He is the one who will not harm you. He is the one who will wait outside the door of the Living Quarters and tell you of this place. He is the narrator of your tale, and he has allowed himself to face the ongoing future of those others who may be trapped in this place. He will try his best to tell you that you may not survive this. And that you will die.

You:
You will die. Eventually. Will it be as you slowly loose your soul after being attacked by one of the monsters, or after you unlock the right lock and possibly leave? You will not age in this Hallway. You will not get sick in this Hallway. You will have the key and you will be allowed to do what you will with it.
What time were you from? Are you one of those with a lock from the past present or future? Are you even fully human? Time doesn't mean anything to you, so why should it matter to The Hallway? Timelines mash together here, and your path will cross with those you would have never met, simply because of when or where you are from.
