and welcome to Duke and Xavi’s stab at a Halloween Roleplay Event.
This year’s theme is creepy crawlies and werewolves with a mix of blood
and zombies and maybe a few witches, wizards, superheroes and cats.
Most importantly, challenges that need solving! The world has been thrown into chaos as species collide and worlds shift. What wasn’t possible is and what wasn’t there still isn’t. Ghosts ‘n moar are just the start of our wicked adventure. So grab your trick-or-treat bags and put on your costumes, we’re going to have the Halloween of our lives!
Rules

Now like all roleplays, there are some sort of rules for keeping things controlled and safe. Probably the most important thing to us is your happiness. We want this to be a fun, enjoyable event where everyone and anyone can participate.
That being said, there’s no post limit. You and a friend join a theme and post as you want to. We’ll make you a location so you never have to worry about intruders.
Now let’s say you’re itching to take a stab at another theme, you can. You’re allowed to join three of the five topics, unless you ask for special permission. This allows you some flexibility. But please try to be reasonable. We don’t want a ton of dead threads.
Speaking of dead threads, we frown upon that so much so that we will notify you if you haven’t been posting. You have 31 days to impress us as well as WTF.
Let me touch on that a bit more, shall I? So this contest is judged during the month of October. People will vote on which stories they like and the winning story will earn a prize. Since there are five themes, there will be five winners. You cannot win more than once, sorry.
I bet you’re asking what happens when October ends, right? Well, we don’t close the thread. This is your story. We’ll keep the thread open and you’ll be free to post long after the 31st of October. Just remember, you’ll want to have a good amount of posts between the 1st through the 31st if you want to win votes.
To vote, we’re asking you to go offsite to SurveyMonkey (I think this is what we’ll use). We will keep the polls as up to date as possible. Check back before the end of the month if you wish to change your vote!
Voting opens on the 24th. You will have one week to cast your votes for your favorite story.
It’s all pretty straightforward. You pick a theme, you ask us to make a location for you, you post with friends, and you try to gain votes. Your posts can be over-the-top dramatic, realistic, fantasy-based, comedic-- whatever. Fandoms or original characters, that’s up to you!
Essentially, this is an everything goes roleplay -- so long as you stay on topic and try to complete your mission.

The people of the Haunted Hollow have noticed
some strange things these past few days. Their children are vanishing, a
headless horseman is riding around the village, people who cross paths with
black cats are forgotten, rumors of a battle between fur and fangs is getting
dangerously close, and the party down the street at the mansion hasn’t ended.
What gives!
With their resources running low, the Hollow
Folk have turned to the citizens of WTFRPG to aid them in their time of need.
These out of towners seems to have their own issues to face, too, as some
of them are swept into the horrible happenings that the Haunted Hollow citizens
have already faced.
Time is of the essence and all seems to be at a
loss. It’s up to you, valiant WTFer, to save the day. So grab your
gear and suit up for things are about to go bump in the night as your quest for
candy and salvation begins tonight.

Beyond the GraveA Graveyard & Zombies roleplay theme
I’m sure you didn’t see this coming. I mean most people don’t. But… you died last night. Your death is your own so you can figure out how you died on your own. Now, the real thing you need to know is that your death has kinda turned you into this hero of sorts. What do I mean by that? Well, there’s been some shady business down at the graveyard. Rumor has it that kids run away from home and go there -- and they never appear again. Now that you’re dead, you can kind of do the impossible. You can investigate the area (did I mention that no one can enter the graveyard without falling into a coma a day later?) and start figuring out what’s causing the kids to flock there. It’s up to you to set things right.

Stories like to tell about how werewolves and vampires cannot mix. What you don’t know is that they used to be friends years ago. What changed? Well, that’s for you to figure out -- and you better do it fast! It’s up to you to mend the bond that was broken by pride! You only have so much time before the two species clash and destroy the world.
ThePumpkin King has my Head A Headless horseman & Pumpkin king roleplay theme
Players are to team up with the Headless Horseman in an attempt to retrieve his head from the fearsome Pumpkin King. But finding the Pumpkin King is no walk in the garden. You have to cross the Wicked Woods and the Ruined River. On the other side, you’ll face the Grand Pumpkin Army and, upon defeating the orangemen, you can sneak into the castle and retrieve the Pumpkin King’s pumpkin head!

As you’re walking home late one night, a black cat crosses your path. A week later, you start to feel ill and, in your dreams, you’re faced with a witch. Only, when you wake, you realize it was no dream. You’ve been sucked into a world unlike your own. The only way home is to defeat the 13 Witch Sisters. But you’ve no weapon. You only have… one black cat.
Whispers in the DarkA Ghosts & Haunted House theme
What started off as a romantic evening soon turned into the horror of your life. The Haunted House Halloween Ball turned out to be a trap! You’re now on your own, having to find new friends to team up with to defeat the demon that’s locked you in his haunted mansion. Around every corner you find more ghosts and, before you know it, you’re in for the fight of your life. Convert the cursed ghosts to free spirits in time or you’ll join them in their hollow form!

Every character needs to have a physical description, a personality, and a history. How long or short that is is up to you. It’s also recommended that you list your powers and/or weapons. Since this story is in the eye of the beholder, it can be fantasy or real. It’s totally up to you, so you can decide what you need.
Once your PHYSICAL, PERSONALITY, EQUIPMENT, and HISTORY are filled out, you’ll need to add the following in the EXTRA section:
What roleplay theme you’re participating in.
Who your partner(s) is.
What location icon color you would like.
What title you would like for your roleplay.
And if it’s open/closed. Meaning, can other people jump in and join it or is it a private one. If it’s open, please tell us how many people (max) you want in the story.
