[ The Beginning of the End ]

The world as we knew it was on the verge of collapse and no one saw it coming. It was a scary possibility that the humans only joked about. When the year 2013 rolled around, the talk of the end seemed to become more of a joke than ever. It's shame, especially since they have no idea that the only hope for survival lays in the hands of seven sinister individuals who, should the treasure during the journey prove more valuable than the end result, might quit the game and doom all.

My name is Yuera. I am the goddess of time and space. It is I who sent you seven a vision of destruction. It is I that summoned you to this frozen wasteland.

You seven are the only hope for survival. By becoming a part of history, you will redeem yourselves in the future. Those sinister actions you performed? I can erase them from the world. You can return to your previous life and cast away the life of crime.

The temptation to veer off the path will be strong but you seven are strong. Each was hand selected by me because I can see the good within.

Your journey across the eras and time will have confrontations. Hunters will seek to kill you and, if they do succeed in finding and killing you, there will be no starting over. The magic in the weapons of those that hunt you down is the only thing that can permanently kill you. So, please, watch each other's backs. You'll all need to survive to save the world.

Now, go forth and find yourself in a foreign, interesting land. Seek out seven rare items that will allow you to make an anti-doom's day device.

Your first stop is a time where large beasts used to roam the land. Fierce teeth and long necks will surround you. Be careful not to burn in the lava or become someone's dinner or you will reset your mission, forcing you all to start over. With each start over, the item you seek will be relocated.

Again, good luck and my your sins prove to be most useful.

  2. Characters in this post:
Ice already consumed a large portion of his face. If it continued at this hastening pace, the blonde-haired male would succumb to hypothermia and would eventually die.

Arms wrapped around his body, not even the thick, wool coat could keep the wind from stabbing him. The strong blasts of ice that felt much like sandpaper continued to pelt at his exposed flesh. The whiplash from the raging wind had even combed his hair in a rather usual mess that seemed to be freezing in place. Eyes squinted and dry, the male tried to listen to the echoing, foreign words from the goddess.

Had he had question, he never would have had a chance to ask it for the woman vanished the split second after she spoke her last remark. A wave of confusion didn't consume him as he believed it would. Instead, everything started to sink in and, immediately, Harv understood their mission. To save the present, they needed to fix the past, which would alter their future. It was crystal clear, save for the part about a sin. A bit baffled by the idea of partnering up with a sin, the handsome man took a very stiff step toward one of the others.

Brows furrowed, he tried to find his voice but his lips seemed to be stuck together. Applying some chopstick to them, he finally felt them melt away from one another so that he could converse with the others.

"Did anyone else notice she forgot to mention how we will carry out these missions?"

Sarcastic yet true, Harv's mind was searching for the answer to that question he just presented to the six others who were gathered around him. Sure enough, though, his question received an answer as a glowing forcefield vaporized before them.

Warmth exploded from the streams of light that seemed to light up the dark skies. Swirls of color danced before their eyes and brought most into a trance. Why, even Harv found himself smiling at the beam of light.

Being the brave one (or perhaps the only one that didn't care about the consequences of his actions), Harv took a sure step toward the light. Tugging his right hand from its burrow within the coat's pocket, he wiggled his finger-less gloved fingers before the stream of light. Staring at it, he didn't move his hand into the rays until he blinked.

As if by magic, a pulse wave shot out from the way of light. Instantly, all seven were engulfed by the mystical field. Their bodies began to levitate and their attire started to shift. No longer dressed in winter gear, the seven figures were now donning their Age of the Dinosaur era which ranged from caveman attire to military grade gear. Harv was one of the lucky ones that was gifted with the camouflaged uniform that did not include a little cloth to cover his crotch.

Bodies phasing in and out, they are met with a familiar female voice - Yuera's voice.

"Your first mission will end with the collection of a battery. After you have secured the battery, look for the beam of light. This is the Era Key Portal. It is the only thing that will allow you to era jump. Again, good luck."

Consumed by warmth and a rainbow of colors, the seven float up toward the heavens. By the time their bodies reach the first layer of clouds, they are already transparent and on their way to the historia crux.

The historia crux is a stream of black and purple mystics that are littered with sparkling dots. Each of those dots represents a period in time. As the seven whiz down the stream, they finally come to a jarring stop over one of the dots on the far end of the spectrum.

Now in free fall, the so-called heroes are "dropping in" on their first mission.

During this fall, though, our seven think back to the events that led up to this moment....

    [ Recalling the Past ]

Humans, let your mind wander. Go back to the day you first committed your true sin. Learn what demon lays within you and find peace with this discovery.

What to do: You may post much like I did with Harv -- where you summarize everything that happened while at the North Pole. Or you can just post about that day in your past where you became one with your sin. This should be the sin that your character is infused with. Have fun with this thing. We're really just using this as a "filler" post until everyone is here and active. Starting next week, I would like to start out posts in the Dawn of the Dinosaur section. Until then, have fun walking your character around memory lane. If you decide to have your character step out of those memories, you can have them interact with the others as they free-fall into the world

  4. Characters in this post:
Greg was not having a good time but would be damned if he would let the others see as he was freezing his arse off in the middle of nowhere, far away from his city or his henchmen. He had the annoying feeling of seeing an old man from the corner of his eyes, drinking what he though he heard around the wind as 'hot prune juice' of all things, but the apparition disappeared when he turned his head to see it better. Not wanting to be though crazy or worse, delirious, he said nothing. He said nothing about a lot of things, like the freezing of his every limbs as he pretended to be immune to the cold weather and persistent snow storm pelting him with bucketfuls of frozen water.

The appearance of the goddess was a distraction he made sure to grasp as it prevented him from thinking too much about such earthly discomforts as cold and let him slowly get focused on a task, as inane as it appeared at first glance as he had no intention of changing his way. He was the Dragon Head of the New York Triad, after all!

Another man, a cocky blond with chap-stick of all girly things, tried to strike a conversation but was distracted by a blinding beam of light that the moron seemed fit to touch without prior knowledge of it's proprieties.

    Idiotic cur.

That action seemed to propel all of them in the warm beam of light, their clothes, that most likely neither of them had ever owned before this night, changing into either caveman’s attires or military uniform, Greg being one of the unfortunate ones getting stuck with the former. He will not let this change his attitude, of course.

As they floated to their destination, the goddess' voice from before rang again saying that they would have to get a battery in this world filled with dinosaurs that would be their first stop. That made Greg unhappy, and an unhappy Greg meant eventual hell for those around him. He was patient.

A moment later, he felt himself falling through the sky.

Swallowed a terrified yell, he bore it all with as much stoicism as he could as he was forced down memory lane. He first met Pride when he set out to surpass his father, he supposed...

He was the son of an American whore by the then Head of the New York Triad, Tang Mao Feng, making him a bastard as well as an half, an eyesore for the patriotic Chinese mafioso that were part of his father's gang. He hated it, and hated his parents for giving hm this twisted life, so he put all that hate behind a mask of indifference and set out for his vengeance, climbing the Triad's hierarchy to where he had been finally been able to take over Feng's empire and bring him down to take as his own all that he had, summarily killing his numerous half-sibling and “mothers” in the process.

All was well until now, he was on top of the world... why did things had to change? But still, there may be opportunities to better his standing even more, so he will watch for now...

It was his last day of Highschool and Takumi had enough of everything. He'd do what he wanted to do today. The usual gathering in the assembly hall and then his last classes. In every last on he was sleeping, he didn't care if he got yelled at. During Lunch he was asleep in a tree, a Teacher had to get a stick to poke him to wake him up but Takumi wouldn't respond until the bell rang.

In P.E class he refused to do everything he was told to do, he was tired and he didn't know why nor did he care. He loved being lazy,he didn't have to do anything that required effort. But on the very last class the Principal walked in and started yelling at him. Takumi simply shut his eyes and when the Principal was bout to slap him on the head Takumi, while still asleep, grabbed the hand and rose bending the Principals arm until it went out of place and then threw a sloppy but powerful and swift punch into the poor old mans face.

Takumi woke up and said "Now you know to leave me alone..." He yawned and simply grabbed his things and walked out of the room.

Takumi awoke and saw himself falling and said lazily "Alright...who threw me out of the plane..." he yawned and swallowed a bug or something and started choking then finally coughed it up and spat to the side "Come to think of it...when did we get in a plane?"

  6. Characters in this post:
The twisting and turning of the fall soon grew very boring. Breaking from the chain of memories that flooded his mind upon the initial time warp was enough to drive a man insane. It's a good thing Harv was already deemed crazy or he might have fallen into a new state of darkness. Still, it was pleasant walking down memories lane. Not. Who, in their right mind, wanted to dig up a past that which they tried to forget?

Needless to say, glowing colors soon collided with the falling pair of individuals who were sent on the greatest adventures of their lives. Too bad the world was counting on them and they were being pursued by some of the sexiest virtues alive (shouldn't it be a sin to be that good looking? After all, Harv was considered a sin and he is the hottest man to walk the planet).

When the ground finally swallowed them whole, Harv was the first to realize that they couldn't die. For within the first seven-seconds of their arrival to the dawn of the dinosaurs, Harvey was flattened by his fellow teammates. Head popping from its socket, the rift-raft heroes all watched as a large GAME OVER appeared before their eyes.

A whirl of colors swarmed them and, within less than a second, they were all back to where they started. Only, this time, they were all standing rather than flattening Harvey.

Brow cocked and head spinning for he was thoroughly confused, Davis looked over his shoulder at the so-called heroes that were behind him.

"Uhh, did I just die?" It was a rhetorical question. Of course he died; everyone saw that Harvey's name was crossed out, which meant that he was the reason for the reset. Annoyed that he had to be the first to die, he pulled out his pistol and gave it a good fire. He didn't even bother to aim.

Again, colors engulfed them and they were reset in time. Smirk on his face, the blonde cracked a joke that he found most fitting for the moment.

"I don't know about the rest of you, but I could get used to this. I feel like we're in a bad western movie but we have infinite lives. It's like that glitch in Pokemon where you get unlimited MasterBalls, only we get unlimited lives."

It was a pathetic comparison but he thought it was appropriate for this lot of heroes. They seemed to be the kind that would understand his reference. They all grew up in the same-ish era so, odds were, they had all played Pokemon at least once. Or so he hoped. Had they not, then Harv would call them a "poor, deprived child who, clearly, did not have a childhood worth discussing."

A ferocious roar called out from within a mile of where they stood. Blinking, Harv started to crack up before whirling out his gun again. "I have always wanted to take on a T-rex." Realizing that a gun made him look less badass, he strapped it away and readied his fists.

"Rexy, it's time you meet Harvey, the reason why you died."

  7. Characters in this post:
Greg took pleasure in flattening that foolish fool, but when said fool shot him, he knew it meant War. Nobody messed with Greg Tang and lived, never mind shot him! Plus the fool just challenged a T-Rex. Perfect!

Scowling and with murder in his eyes, Greg sneaked behind Harv and kicked him with a precise strike borne of over a decade of martial training, somehow managing to not disturb his rather short loincloth in the process. The hit stuck true and propelled Harv just inside the T-Rex roaring maw. The following event were very gory and satisfying, in Greg not so humble opinion.

Just as he was smirking in malicious glee, the world once again changed into a mess of colours as all was reset once more. Worth it.

As the world stabilized itself in a semblance of order, a strange old man in a tiny loincloth bashed all of they skulls with his massive club and ran away giggling and screaming about whipper-snappers.

As Greg slowly came back to an hour later, he knew he had found himself another mortal foe. That old fart would DIE.

  8. Characters in this post:
As Takumi slept on the he dreamed good things until the roar woke him up he stared at the monstrous lizard and goy exteamely annoyed. He gragged the nearest stick then got bashed on the head bu an old geezer. He got agitatedand yelled "SAA, OMAE WA TSUMI WO KAEZRO" which translated to Now, count your crimes. He grabbed a bigger stick and raised it above his head, then without warning he collapswd onto the ground asleep.
