Happy holidays to you all!
Tell about your special holiday plans or traditions and send your greetings to other Breezers! n__n
We celebrate Christmas today, so Merry Christmas too!
Currently just spending time. My computer and laptop are on the same table now so I'm really being social while surfing the net. All seem to be away doing things so none of my RPs are waiting for my response neither any of them need admin-ing.
We had gift exchange and xmas dinner already. Just telling greetings and killing time now. ^^
Have a happy holiday.
For me, Hanukkah started at sundown on the 20th and will go until the sundown on the 29th. It is not a really major holiday, so we don't really do much special for it aside from light the hanukkia (what a menorah is called on Hanukkah).
Hanukkah is very unknown holiday for me since Finland really doesn't have much people who celebrates it. All I know about it is from TV and the little I've learnt from my foreign friends.
Do you give presents or have a special dinner or anything like that?
Hanukkah is not a high holy day in the Jewish religion, but we exchange minor tokens as gifts. and say a prayer as we light the candles. That is really about it. Sometimes we make cookies and potato latkes, but there isn't a feast or anything.
Since I live in Sweden I celebrate Christmas on the 24th. Just came home, had breakfast, dinner and opened pressies with my mom , sisters and my mom's new husbands family.
Had some snaps too. It tastes bleugh :S
Utopia: I see, thanks for explaining. It sounds calm and relaxing time all in all. *nods*
Impish: Hejsan, grannen! Yes, you celebrate on the right day like we. ;D
I can't say I've ever tasted those. I'm waiting to get some glögg finally. I love glögg and Julmust. n__n
Gess: Hej grannen! God jul It is the right day! ;D It's some sort of booze which you drink in shots glasses. It tasted yuck! Normal glögg or like apple flavoured glögg?
I live in Sweden too so we celebrate Christmas today on the 24th.
Happy holidays to everyone.
I celebrate today with family and some relatives. We ate Christmas smorgasbord (Yes that's the translation according to Tyda.se! It's like a big dinner with different meals in a buffet way) Some special traditions is watching Christmas with Donald Duck and Friends, listening to Christmas song and open presents. Btw we eat ham on Christmas in Sweden, not turkey.
Spending Christmas Eve at my fathers house. Currently up in my old room with the kids, oh and seeing as Nick doesn't have the greatest family situation right now, my family invited him to stay as well. So it's a big silly slumber party up here! (The kids have to sleep up here because if they sleep in their rooms they will most likely see my dad and step mum put out the presents)
We just got done watching It's A Wonderful Life, a tradition in this house. Tomorrow I will most likely be woken up way earlier than I want to be, but it will be fun. ^^
I hope everyone who is celebrating has a great holiday! <3 <3 Much love from Schiz~!
And I hope you have not a single still moment.
Impish: Normal glögg. I didn't even know there's apple one.
Haha, yeah. I Googled to see what it actually looks like. The name of it makes me think about thick lumpy thing.
Brook V: I often watch the Donald Duck one too plus the Snowman. This year I missed completely every single Christmas program there is because I didn't feel like watching TV. Sort of regretting now... Oh well, there's the next one in roughly 360 days! :'D
And yes, we eat ham too. It's amazing when cooked right.
Schiz: I hope you had a really good Christmas! Sounds like it at least!
Soo, now that Christmas is over it's safe to ask what did you get? As if you want to tell about something especially. For example I got this and that but finally got a Rubik's cube! I'm so happy about such a weird thing. Already can solve it most of the times. ^^
I got NCIS: Los Angeles season 2 in Christmas present.
I got a digital picture frame for my desk at work for Hanukkah.
A digital picture frame is a frame that has a little screen and you load up with digital pictures and it rotates through them. That way I can have as many pictures as I can fit on the SD card on my desk without taking up a lot of space.
I got a digital frame in present too a few years ago. But I don't use it much as it get rather hot. :/
Ooh, sounds lovely way useful and useless at the same time. No offense meant. n__n
I do like the idea of being able to change the pictures which are in it easily too!
Oooh, Happy New Year! I am only a couple of hours away from it currently.
We probably are going to do the tin melting as the only tradition this year.
