I have been thinking of places of interest around town. So far I have come up with:
A pub
A bakery
A grocer
A farmer's market
A local mill
A post office/town hall
A small, old church
A couple of castles that bring tourists around
A distillery (Scotch or Whiskey most likely) that also brings tourists around
I haven't thought much more than that with like names or anything. Have you got any thoughts?

Sounds good to me :-)
Hm... The... Prancing Possum? Haha, not a clue what to name the poor pub. But can always name the farmers market just that and the post office Galliriver Postal Office? The dont usually have special names unless owned by individuals instead of the village.
Oh, the postal woman can be a lonely woman who is a regular? Like she spends her time reading romance novels and being completely oblivious to the fact that the pub owner is in love with her?

I like the idea of the lonely postal woman reading romance novel with the pub owner in love with her. So cute.
I am trying to think of the first customer they should help (I can always change the name of the chapter to suit something else, I was sort of playing around with names and a theme for names).
Can you think of other establishments that should be around? Maybe a small cafe or something? *shrug*
The Pub - The Prancing Possum
Bakery - Wells Loaves
Grocer - Farm Road Corner Shop (?)
farmer's market - Farmer's Market
Local mill - Galliriver Mill (actually on the river)
post office/town hall - Galliriver Post/ Galliriver Hall
A small, old church - The Abbey of Saint Columban
A couple of castles that bring tourists around - Wyldewight Castle and The Manor of Swainsway
A distillery (Scotch or Whiskey most likely) that also brings tourists around - Glen Galliriver

Tehe, glad you like it
Man, you are great at coming up with chapter names. Liking all the names thus far too. Hm, maybe we should? Though Im not familiar with how small towns look XD A second hand shop which has become a little of an attracting point for younger tourists? A souvenir shop?

A trinket shop is a good idea, maybe instead of a second hand shop an antiques shop? I would guess all the cool kids go to the city to shop or buy stuff online.
-
Jaunty Journeyman
Yeah, and antique shop sounds like a good idea :-) ha, I feel as though Im on repeat.. Waiting to open christmas pressies! Posted too.

I will draw up a little (super simple) diagram of the town to give us an idea of what is around so we are both on the same page. I also made a generic customer NPC, feel free to use as you wish.
-
Jaunty Journeyman
Sounds good. The diagram will definitely be useful.

I shall work on this. If you have any suggestions for monuments or nearby niftiness, let me know and we can collaborate on it. (Maybe start with a draft and update.)

Great. Hm, maybe the ruins of an old monastery or something like that? Or an old castle which still stands, though slightly battle-wounded, on the top of the hill overlooking the town.
-

Sounds good. I like the idea of a ruined castle- great tourist fodder.
Also, I think both of us can control the NPC over the course of the day.

Yay Tourists like that sort of thing
Sounds like a damned good idea. I'll get going and reply to that lovely post of yours.
