This is the improved version of the Music to my Ears thread I created. For those interested, we can discuss the plot and such here.

Ignore that message about linking me seeing as you made a new thread. Alright, what kind of plot should we go for... I'll get back to you on that once Jung has posted.
I freak out about 15 minutes into reading anything about the earth's core
when I realize it's right under me.
*lurking*
So you guys know I'm here as well XP
Yay! 4 people!

Okay! Recap from the previous thread, we suggested having two bands competing in the Battle of the Bands. The head singers from both bands, who had a crush on the same girl, bet that, which ever band won the competition, that guy could ask the girl out. We also suggested if it would lead an argument in both bands from the other members. Then, after this guy's band splits up, he becomes a roadie and starts to work with another famous band. He then started realizing that he wanted to continue performing, so he quits being a roadie and sets out to look for band members.

Those are two separate ideas but yeah ^^

Right, sorry. They were both by Alex, and I'm open to ideas, cause I'm having a very. . . peculiar case of writer's block. . .

Hmmm, I do like those ideas, would be very interesting.
What do you think the age groups you would want to work with are? At least for myself, having age in mind (or groups at least) helps with coming up with ideas for the story. Not like you can have over the top parties as kids, unless they're rich kids >.> ... BUT! You get the idea XD
Sorry. . . I was thinking about the age range, then I had to do filing, then I was thinking about how to respond to posts before brain just buzzed out. Well, I managed to think of an age range. Well, I think that somewhere between 15 to mid 20's work.

Lmao, you're fine XD At that point I went full cosplay mode so it's all good!
Well, that creates some hilarious moments in my mind. What if it was something like a time lapse? That is, if both ideas were liked. We could have one from when they were teens and in 'garage' bands. After that battle takes place, it could be years later to after member from the other band decides he wants to perform again and the band he lost to is still around and climbing the charts. Another bet could be made after he confronts them. No idea what, but that's just what's popping to mind.
That actually works out smoothly. . .

There's also the possibility we could make solo acts go to a contest and then the winners of various musical contests form a band. Or we could also show each members route to being in the band that will compete. Or something something something :P
(sorry for the late post)
To write a good story, one needs to live it.
No problem. And your idea involves the past of the band members and side stories. That could work. I've seen that happen in this one RP I was in.

I like jung's idea but I can't fully wrap my head around how we're going to act it out... That'd probably involve a shit load of NPCs.

I also love Vastani's time lapse idea!

Alex's got a point... But I truly do like the time lapse idea. We can probably find a way to connect all the characters in the past by linking them of some way. (Less NPCs!)

Just wait, I'll sleep on all these ideas and see what wackiness comes out of it XD
After all, it the group forms from a bunch of random individuals through a contest, they won't have the same closeness as say a group of friends. The 'winning' bad could be friends while the other one could be the winners of various talent contests that thought they could make it big if they combined their powers and in the end fought and split up?
We could start the RP after the contest and have both bands formed already?
Or I come up with ideas before bed >.>
These are all good ideas so far. I would say that we do it while they're in the competition, but I'm not sure how to add the others in. I'll think of things since my writer's block seems to be clearing a bit. . .

I'm still working on mine, but I'll think somethin' up.

I'm just spouting the first things that pop to mind XD when I really get inspired, those results are much better. I've just been so focused with working on my cosplay that my brain isn't focusing to too much more than that.
I know how you feel Vastani. . . T^T
Anyways, Jung suggested that with the competition, we could do something like the character's works, judges intake, and such. She'll explain it better than I can since its her idea. . . ._.'

I got an idea for the Battle of the Bands project! How about we show some kind of "behind-the-scene". Like there's the actual contest with the audience and the judges, the social personal life of each but there's also the work with other artists to come up with a new song, the work with songwriters, etc.
Or maybe that was already included in the program '._.
Here you go. This is what she sent me.

Sorry for my late reply '^^So, yeah! That kind of idea! How to explain... um... Kind of like the work behind the bands songs and their inspirations so events that occurred in their life and such.
To write a good story, one needs to live it.
I don't see why that couldn't be a part of it XP
So... kind of like "Total Drama Island"... but with music and no drama... and not a cartoon.

Yeah! Exactly like Alex said!
