Background NPC
Love is War, the Epic of exceptional individuals.
Love is War is the probably unholy mix of a Dating Sim and a Feudal War set in a futuristic feudal approximation of Asia, where the resources are scarce after one too many world war and civilization have retreated to feudal clans and the ideas of each powerful individual having a Harem. This will touch Mature themes, of course of both sexual and violent natures, and will thus not be for children under the age of sixteen (16).
You will be a young person with a good grasp of combat and war yet no experience and resources to speak of. That will of course change over the course of the game, and, if you are lucky, you will soon be in charge of a predominant clan and own a solid base of operation in the war-torn Earth. The world have much changed in the few centuries since our era, with the population too high to be supported by their environment and with all surface, from the atmosphere to the bowels of the Earth's crust, used to host the ever growing population.
Where do the Dating Sim element comes, you ask? Well, Love is the name you will call your dices in this game, with each point of affection you gain from other adding a Love point to your daily pool, with a maximum of five Love per NPC. Not only that, but a betterment of a Relationship will have the NPC more willing to help you.
Acquaintance – Helping comes at a success of 10.
Ally - Helping comes at a Success of 8.
Friend – Helping comes at a success of 6.
Lover – Helping comes at a success of 4.
Spouse – Helping comes at a success of 2.
Each person Helping reduce the difficulty of a task by 1, at the maximum of a total difficulty of 2. You may allocate any number of your daily Love you want for each roll you may desire, the day finishing once you are out of Love.
Your love pool start with having the Love of only yourself (6) to having an army at your command and enterprising more and more difficult tasks. Each dice will be ten sided, and only you will choose how much of your Love you will put into each feat. Mundanes activities such as walking of doing simple tasks will of course be free. Your action will be to either fight for additional events per day, assure more Love, gather more resources to make your events more worthwhile and finally gaining Helping hands. Each means a roll of your chosen number of Love and each means a waste of Love if they fail or worse, the losing of various things such as Resources, Lovely Moments or even your life!
Each level of Love needs successful Lovely Moments that are scenes that must go in accordance to the wooed's taste.
Acquaintance to Ally = 5 Lovely Moments
Ally to Friend = 10 Lovely Moments
Friend to Lover = 15 Lovely Moments
Lover to Spouse = 20 Lovely Moments
The end of it all meaning that in total of 50 Lovely Moments are needed to max out a Relationship. Of course, the available Love for each NPC will be a finite thing, so competition will be tough!
Finally, I will be doing the Dice rolls and coordinating the events, so intricate knowledge of what means what dice is not required, it's just a way for me to choose an outcome with some chance involved.
