Unable to add co-host!

So I've added a co-host to a different game before. But now I'm unable to, when I type the name it just disappears after a bit.

Do they have a character in the game?

I'm pretty sure that to be a co-host, you have to have a character in the game. If I understand correctly, the co-host isn't intended on being a player, so perhaps they could create a general NPC for the game?

Yeah, I ended up just giving them a character. Ach. Thanks!
