I set it up so my girl, Lyu, is looking at collages so she could be in LA if ya wanted to stick around LA with your character.

and Xavi, would it be alright if I made either a past DigiDestined or someone who knows what Digimon are? It'd be Lyu's cousin and he would be 28 and mostly spent around Lyu but still.

I'm planning on starting in LA, as her parents are NOT likely to take her back to New York.

This actually works wonderfully! They could definitely meet up in LA and then they could at least know someone when they get to the DigiWorld. I also really like that part about them NOT returning to NY. It will actually make for interesting twists when the DigiDestined come back to the real world.
