I smiled and blushed lightly, looking down at my lap, my hands folded neatly in it. "Thanks.."
"You're welcome... What did you look like before you became a vampire?"I asked, raising an eyebrow.
I smiled and said,"I'll show you..." I got a photo album. "Cameras were actually invented before everyone thinks. By my father. But we kept it a secret..." I opened it to the first picture. I was 13 and I was sitting with a little blonde girl and we were having tea.. Then I turned to my last picture before "death". I had an elegant red and blue dress on, my hair long and black with a bonnet and my eyes blue. There was a handsome man on my arm. He was grinning but I looked sort of disturbed, my eyes casted down, not making eye contact with the camera.
"You were a stunning human, as well..."I said gently,"Who is he?"
I sighed and ran my fingertips over the picture gently. "My fiancé..." I whispered.
"You don't look very happy,"I said softly, watching her fingers.
I sighed. "This picture was taking the night I met him... Arranged marriage.. A week before the wedding... I never liked him... A day before the wedding a man came into my room and said that he could save me. So.. Here I am..."
I nodded gently,"Wow... I don't know if I could say I am sorry or not...
I shook my head. "Don't worry about it... That was so long ago, I've already forgotten most of my human life..." I whispered. I put the scrapbook up and looked down.
I placed my hand on her back, sighing. I didn't know what to say. No counceleor sould tell you how to comfort a friend with this.
I looked at her and smiled, shrugging lightly. "Let's um... Change the subject...." I said softly.
"Okay... Do you work?"I asked, raising an eyebrow.
I shook my head. "Nope... What's the point? I don't need to pay for anything.."
"I don't know... Aren't you lonely?"
"All the time... It doesn't bother me as much as it used to.." I said softly
"Why don't you interact with people, then?"I asked, raising an eyebrow.
I shrugged. "This time period is a disgrace to mankind.. I find no reason to associate much with them.."
"I can agree with that,"I said gently, sitting back.
I smiled and looked at her. "You're one of the good ones though..." I said softly.
"But you don't know me,"I said gently, shaking my head.
I smiled. "I know enough to know that you're good. I can see it In you."
I blushed gently,"Well... Thanks."
I smiled and patted her back gently. "You're welcome.."
I looked up at her and smiled,"So, would I have died, or would I have become a vampire?"
I shrugged."it depends on if he put enough. He looked like he was trying to drain you so probably not."
"Wow,"I said, nodding slwoly,"Complicated..."
I nodded. "Yeah..." I sighed and looked into her eyes. "Trust me, you don't want to be like me... We're curses of the world.. The creatures that people call demons.. We're designed to kill people. We messed up the food chain completely.."
I sighed gently and took her hand,"I understand."
I looked down at our hands and then I looked back up at her. "Good.."
I smiled at her gently and leaned in, kissing her cheek. It was a notion of friendship, but at the same time... I wanted more.
