Any Science Fiction roleplayers out there?

Surely they must exist somewhere. I'm not quite sure why, but it seems to be the genre I have the most difficulty finding around roleplaying sites, and it's my greatest love. All of the roleplays I'm currently in (minus one) throughout the internets are science fiction, but are only one-on-ones. The other one is dark fantasy.

If you're here because you're a science-fiction roleplayer, what kind of science-fiction roleplays do you like to do? I myself am a fan of roleplays focused on alien worlds and cultures (which makes Mass Effect a heaven-send for me).

If you're here not for this reason, do you have speculation as to why science-fiction seems to be more unpopular with roleplayers? I have a few ideas myself, but they strike unkindly against the roleplaying community, and I'd like to see if there might be some better guesses. :3
