two questions: 1. can a Tenebrae synergist put other people into a shadow walk? and 2. does he/she need to be in shadow/darkness to use it or does it matter?

1. No. The effects of Shadow Walking can only be applied to the synergist.

2. Yes. Shadow Walking must be used while in the cover of shadows. Darkness is an ability that can afflict temporary blindness on anyone caught within the Darkness.


I'll (probably) go into greater details about this when I discuss the Degrees. But, yes, if anyone has any technical questions about their degrees, please feel free to voice them here as well! :D

(I will most likely have a separate index for the Degrees as it might get extensive... lol)

SCENE SET-UP / DIRECTIONS

SETTING: CONFERENCE ROOM C (DE LUCA DISTRICT, SIDEREUS AGENCY HQ)
DATE / TIME: 18 MARCH 5614 (SATURDAY) / 15:00 (3:00PM)
WEATHER / SEASON: SUNNY / SPRING
WHO IS IN THIS SCENE: EVERYONE

I'm going to try and keep this simple and brief (it's just an ordinary introduction, there's really no need for detailed setup): Make sure you get your character to Conference Room C. Conference Room C can be found within the Sidereus Agency Headquarters, which is located inside of the De Luca District.

Once there, meet-and-greet with whoever else is there. After a certain amount of time (or when things become unbearably awkward), I will introduce the assignments. :D

THE GARNET and THE JADE do not know who they will be partnered with. They also do not know that they are part of a four-man cell and not the traditional two-man cells.

THE RUBY, THE AZURITE, THE LAPIS, and THE ONYX have all been assigned to work with one of the rookies. Each of them has been led to believe (and not incorrectly) that they are the mentors.

THE TOPAZ and THE DIAMOND are the mentors to THE GARNET and THE JADE, respectively. They are fully aware of the unique arrangement (four-man cells versus two-man cells).

THE TEAMS: (The Garnet, The Topaz (Mentor), The Lapis, The Onyx) : (The Jade, The Diamond (Mentor), The Ruby, The Azurite)

In the information index, I have updated information on Halcyon (the location), Sidereus (the school), Sidereus Agency (our characters' place of work), and introduced a new section: The Discovery Division.

1. You guys DON'T have to read or digest all of the information within the indexes! While it's good to be familiar with the world (and maybe fun?), it's not really required that you guys read through the Character Index or even the Information Index.

The Character Index is designed for your (hopeful) enjoyment. Everything you need to know about a character will be made available to you either through the IC or a direct message from me.

The Information Index is a confusion-deterrence tool. It's written for those fleeting seconds where you're not certain what you're writing is in-line with the world I have painted (e.g. Where is Sidereus located? or What is the relationship between synergists and non-synergists?). I DO advise glancing through the index so that, in the future, you can quickly reference it. But you don't NEED to know everything in it before posting (if that is what is holding everyone up... ha ha ha).

The Degree Index, however, is like the Mission Index. Both will be important to know and be familiar with. For now, though, they are both empty so... bask in the emptiness.




I say this because I know, since the start of the RP, I have unloaded QUITE a bit of information on everyone. I don't want everyone to think that the overview was a cheap trick to get you guys interested and then, afterward, kill everyone with reading. For the most part, I write these indexes in hopes of offering a clearer, better world. I also have fun writing them so... there's that.


I'm so sorry if any of you felt like killing me every time you saw the indexes being updated. Apologies, lol.

I do have one question, however- What do you mean when you say that those who aren't the rookies or the Topaz or Diamond are led to believe that they are the mentors? Are they more of a back-up mentor of sorts? Or some other sort of thing that I really can't think of right now?

Hm, I don't want to over-complicate things... So, let's see if I can... keep this condensed:


THE RUBY, THE AZURITE, THE LAPIS, and THE ONYX have only been informed that they will be aiding in the training of a recent graduate. The notice didn't really say WHAT they are doing (or the special circumstances) so... most likely, they each believe that they are the named-mentor.


The actual roles in the group will be explained after the meet-and-greet and during the assignment overview. (:


I'm sorry if this seems really restrictive, I just... ah, I don't know why I do it like this? But, it's okay, this is the only time where I will place unfounded restrictions on people, lol.
